I'm not overestimating or hyping him ' date=' dude. I'm just saying he is a good odi bowler who can bowl 10 overs at 135-140 pace, get swing and bowl Yorkers at the end which our bowlers lack.[/quote'] lol ..with type of action he has he will never bowl yorkers consistently and pace wise he will average around 135k he and mohit are going to have similarly skilled bowlers tbh..nothing special but good enough only bowler who actually bowled yorkers and got wickets in a tour was ishwar pandey:winky:

One thing i will say about mohit though. If he is struggling against a poor WI ODI team at home. Then its going to get much harder from this point. The pitches have not been bowler friendly but they have not that too batsman friendly either. Was clearly outbowled by shami and bhuvi in this series and to be frank Unadkat while low on pace was more economical than Mohit.

getting hit for 2 sixes at end kind of spoiled his figures and nay one can get hit like that also are we really gonna start judging bowlers after 2 matches ? i always thought we were lot saner than our padosis

I think you didn't watch kulkarni getting his Yorkers right against NZ -A team. When did you watch ishwar pandey get his Yorkers right? The A tour match was not even telecasted..:giggle: kulkarni is better than mohit, dude. You are getting it all wrong.

I never said i am judging. I am just pointing out its going to get much harder from this point. Look at dhawan. Dropped after 5 terrible ODIs in WI and came back stronger. For all we know dropping Mohit after giving him a taste of international cricket might work in his favour. For what its worth, i will play Mohit in the 3 ODIs in SA. But i think its fair to drop him if he continues to perform like this. An average of 95 with an economy of 7 is a strict no no two series on the trot. Think its fair if he is dropped after being given all 3 SA odis to prove himself in more helpful conditions.

dude many people have failed against mediocre opposition in first few matches shami ahmed was mediocre in west indies against sri lanka and same winies side on even more difficult tracks and if he keeps failing he will be dropped but right now we are being too harsh on him IMHO

it was not telecasted but it was well recorded by people who watched that tour and we got regular updates on cricinfo, twitter and on flat tracks he was only bowler who got yorkers right and picked wickets whenever one else including shami was getting smashed

you compared ipl with odis ? well how you bowl in longest format shows if some one will sustain pace or is just putting too much effort we have had many bowlers who can hit 140k and people hype them as fast but only to bowl at real pace after few matches .. mohit can bowl on average as quick as kulkarni ,actually quicker than kulkarni in longest format so that tells me they are pretty much the same
Obviously the guy was struggling with injury.I have seen kulkarni for years now and fastes i have seen him reach is low 140s,Mohit sharma fastest i have seen is 137ks Mohit sharma is 125-135k bowler in tests with average of 130ks not 135ks. Kulkarni will be quicker than mohit by 3 mphs.Today i think mohit fastest was 84mph and average of 82 in odis .In tests he will be far lower than 82 on average everybody is.

so you tell me, how long do you want to give mohit. 10 odis? 20?

did you see that ranji match or no ? mohit was easily bowling over 135 k and injury happened after game and that is reason he was even selected in squad or atleast in 2nd inning :winky:

5 if he does not loses us match 2 if he bowls pathetic like ishant did
just to clarify 5 matches from this point or 5 matches including the 2 matches he has already played or 5 matches on the trot?

depends man if he is really bad then drop him after next 2 games but if he shows some potential then give him atleast 4-5 games to settle in sometimes you have to give them guarantee that you wont be dropped so that youngster feels at home under dravid rahane does so much better than under dhoni:winky:

by all means do that. As i said i will sit mohit down and say you will be playing all 3 odis v SA.

Pandey may have got the Yorkers right. But the point is I saw kulkarni bowling excellent Yorkers at end. Still I haven't seen mohit Sharma bowling an yorker st pace. I really don't know why you think he is better than kulkarni. As I said its just your opinion against mine and I don't expect you to agree with me. Time will tell. We should just leave it .

i feel kularni is easily better talent but he should start at tests which would be his strength ..most of times he is type of bowler who will bowl full with good seam and get movement for wickets but not some one who will be good at death aaron is our best bet for that

Kulkarni is slightly faster and gets more bounce and movement then Mohit, I have seen him bowling above 135 on ave, faster ones about 143 k, I believe he has the potential to bowl 138 k on ave,he seems to bowl faster and well in patches that is a bit worrying though, Mohit is more limited then Kulkarni and both are a level below Pankaj easily, Aaron, Suyal a rung above easily too Pandey to me is a better option then everyone except our three main bowlers and Aaron, Pankaj.

He is our gun bowler. I see him playing for long long time now. He might end up becoming a better bowler than even Shami. Shami, I feel is having a great run right now, but he bowls too full for my liking. I want to see more of him.
