Speaking exclusively to the India Today Group, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said his party is committed to slashing electricity tariff by 50 per cent, regardless of the consequences . "Let Tatas and Ambanis leave if they want. We are committed to reducing the power tariff within the first four months of assuming office. There is no shortage of private companies in India. We will find other companies to handle electricity distribution if these companies decide to leave." AAP might not fulfill the promises but they will not mess up governance.

In such a scenario, anything they they do not fulfill is a promise broken.I'd rather they made the pitch about effective governance than utopia

This is politics - nothing is black and white here. They made utopian promises just like any other party does. If anything they played shrewd politics The people judge a party on governance and that is where AAP will be tested as well.

The people of Delhi would want a magic wand from AAP because of the promises AAP has made and obviously that is not possible so their honeymoon period will end very soon.

That they have been honestly doing business for the last century in a country like India where you can't even get a driving license made without paying a 1000 bucks I guess the black and white world isnt that much of an AAP problem after all

Checks like AAP do well to jolt the system which settles down after both political parties get stuck in the same rut. The Lokpal bill was not passed because of the latest Anna fast but because of AAP's performance in the Delhi polls

That they don't pay bribes to secure contracts? That the 2g licenses for millions of dollars were coincidentally granted to the Tatas? Tatas have very good PR and a good name in the public. To add to that they don't blatantly abuse power like Reliance does. But to suggest that they are squeaky clean is a sign of living in utopia because business in India cannot be done that way, not yet
