Rape charities jumped on the comment, calling on him to apologise for the "appalling" remarks. "We are appalled that Graeme Swann equates a cricket match with the devastatingly serious crime of rape," Yvonne Traynor, chief executive of the Rape Crisis charity said. "These comments lack compassion and intelligence and he should apologise to anyone who has suffered from this heinous crime." The comment came after Ryan Harris was forced to apologise for a drunken Twitter rant he sent in the early hours after being refused entry to Crown Perth casino while celebrating Australia's Ashes victory. The croaky-voiced paceman said sorry after arriving in Melbourne. "Obviously I made a silly mistake this morning and I tweeted something I probably shouldn't have,'' he said. "It was a silly thing to do - they let me in in the end, so they did the right thing. "But they have to do their job and they were doing it. "As I've heard many times before, don't tweet when you've had a drink.'' Harris, celebrating the win in Perth that gave Australia an unassailable 3-0 series lead, was initially denied access to the casino, and let everyone know about it on Twitter at about 3.30am local time. The tweet contained a series of expletives and was quickly deleted, but not before some of Harris' 37,000 followers saw it. "A tip for all those heading to Perth! Avoid the crown or casino! S*** hole can't get in if you have had a drink #s***place#d***heads," the tweet read. WA all-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile, who was on standby for the Test and also took part in the celebrations, also tweeted: "Crown casino wouldn't let the team that won the Ashes onto the premises because security were on a power trip. If I am Alastair Cook or Andy Flower, I would not be too pleased with Swanny, but not the language he used, but the message this tweet conveys. If I am in the Aussie camp, I would be rejoicing at this tweet. It proves how badly some of the Poms want to get out of Australia and wished this series ended already. Not the kind of message you want to give, going into the 4th test trailing 0-3.
