Swann Retires

Graeme Swann has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect. The spin bowler, who played 60 Tests from 2008-2013, made the announcement in his column in The Sun on Sunday. It came after England went 3-0 down in the Ashes series, meaning Australia had regained the urn with two Tests still to play. "I came to Australia in the hope of winning our fourth Ashes series on the trot but that's now impossible," he told the newspaper. "So it's time for someone else to buckle in and enjoy the ride." "I could have made myself available for the last two Tests and maybe had a bit of a send-off from the Barmy Army. But that's no reason to hang on for two more games. I like to be the centre of attention - but for the right reason by winning games of cricket."

For all his limitations he was really good. Came in pretty late in the England team and bowled really well for a long time both at home and away. I used to like his bowling action too. He was one of the English players I actually liked watching. I think he will get into broadcasting and stuff. I can see he will be a brilliant commentator.

Usually English spinners never had any success against India.Swann is probably the best ever English spinner to play against India.
