Cricketics
isn't he.. offcourse ppl might think he just performed well hence therez a thread on him.. but still i always felt he is very underrated bowler.. Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
nah his performances before have been below par but he has bowled beautfully in this series and esp in this game...so credit where its due.....I think if he keep bowling liek this, he will be our default choice for the spinner. veer
i admit i never rated him high.. but him taking 6 and bhajji getting none.. or hogg getting none.... tells me that i was wrong.. Link to comment
Anakin
I've never been a fan of his bowling, but he seems to be enjoying bowling to OZs, specially in Mumbai Link to comment
fineleg
The reason he is underrated is because he has been very inconsistent in ODIs Link to comment
jf1gp_1
i admit i never rated him high.. . nor did i. if India is playing only one spinner can kartik be that spinner? To be honest i am still not sure if we can play him as the lone spinner. I would still prefer powar/bhaji over him. But todays performance has given hope. Last time pak hit him all over the place, lets see how he bowl against team. Todays performance reminds me of sunil joshi's spell if i remember correctly he also took 6 for 15 or 18 against SA in one game and then never came back. Anyways great work by Kartik today and all the best to him for future games. Link to comment
fineleg
Consistency is not the forte of any Indian player (maybe Dravid and Tendulkar during some phases of their life were consistent). Other than that, each of the 11-16 players is a 60-80% of Agarkar (Agarkar being 100% inconsistent) Link to comment
Lurker
Karthick is not rated because he has a bit of atitude which effectively ensured Ganguly did not like him. True Karthik did not exactly set the cricket world with the chances that came his way either but he never got the kind of support that Harbhajan Singh gets. A spinner typically thrives on his captain's confidence as witnessed by Kumble-Azhar, Murali-Ranatunga, Imran-Qadir, Akram-Saqlain but Murali Karthik did never have it. I would still not consider Murali Karthik a great spinner but I certainly think he is as good as Bhajji if not better. Link to comment

Lurker
Thats an easy comparison :D True but still Harbhajan keeps getting the nod  Link to comment
Cricketics
Agree with lurker.... if not better then bajji, then not bad then him either.. Link to comment
fineleg
Agreed. But such is that state of spin bowling in India :( Where we struggle to unearth spinners these days! Link to comment
Yuvraj4Captaincy
I am not too sure in odis but in tests, bhajji is good... Link to comment
yoda
Gangu screwed around with his career. The guy was dropped for the very next series after he won the MOM vs Australia in Mumbai. Link to comment

ludhianvi
I didnt rate him and I will wait until I rate him as a bowler. Unless he has improved from before, it would be hard for him on flatter tracks. Also dont forget that Mumbai is Kartik's stronghold. I think he also picked up like 6 wickets in the test match against the Aussies. I'll wait against the series against Pakistan Link to comment
yoda
No' date=' he wasn't. He played in the next test vs SA[/quote'] Ok. He was good enough for one more game. :D Link to comment
