Also RR,CSK,MI cannot bid aggressively for top players due to already spent lot of money in retainment. I guess DD can get back KP,Warner etc for less than the retainment money. PS: Somewhere read DD negotiated with KP/Warner/Viru , but players refused to take less money.Looks like they ahve to satisfy with less now also. DD (Kirsten) did smart decision by not retaining any player (specially overseas as they may not get that higher price) and Indian as well may be cheaper because every team have retained some players and may not bid bigger. You need a good quality Indian bunch to make a decent team in IPL. most of the better Indian players are already retained. There are a lot of overseas players left but you can only play 4 in the end and you need at least 5 out of 7 quality Indian players to make any impact. Look at CSK and MI, they have those 3-4 quality Indian players retained. DD can pick 2-3 good Indian players in auction but it is difficult to fill 7 spots of capable players.
