alexander Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Johnson is a quality bowler. Pakistan has had some great quicks - and some good talent in the fast bowling department once again. Need to sort your batting out mind you, it is pretty crap outside of Asia.
special K Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 MJ/Tait/Lee in perth we won that test. Brett LEe was at his peak more dangerous than MJ. :giggle: Lee was faster, but he was nowhere near as accurate as MJ has been in this series. England players played Lee well also.
vvvslaxman Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Our batsman have faced the likes of waqar' date=' zahid, Akhtar and now irfan all the time in domestic and the nets johnson is just a kid in front of them.[/quote'] :hysterical: yes.. 53 & 59 all out.. those kind of scores in this decade happen only with Pakistan cricket. Not even Zimbabwe got bowled out for double digits in both innings of a test.
panther Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Bradford residing Pakis' date=' dont know where their allegiance is, Paki-land or England?!![/quote'] Thankfully I do not reside in that city, My allegiance is only with Islam. Everything else is redundant and does not matter to be honest.
alexander Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Bradford residing Pakis' date=' dont know where their allegiance is, Paki-land or England?!![/quote'] I expect all Brits born here to support England whether their parents are from India, Pakistan, the WI or elsewhere. I know most British Asians support their 'mother' lands, and that is unfortunate. None the less, I sincerely hope England are at least your alternate team after India/Pakistan/WI/x.

Muloghonto Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I don't know where you got this from. There were lots of critics about our preparation down under this time compared to three years ago. There were predictions of us still winning though. Anderson is finished away from. For the next few years he'll just be a home bowler. Teams will be troubled by him in England. I wouldn't even bother playing a spinner against you guys. Stokes, Finn, Broad and Anderson should be the attack. I am sorry but we will beat the pants off such an attack. Bounce does not worry us, swing does. Anderson is a shadow of himself and only Broad moves it enough at high enough speed to bother us. You guys must play Onions if you wish to beat us, we will beat the crap out of Finn or Stokes. As for not playing a spinner, you must play a spinner because you don't have any part timers good enough to rush through the overs. A pace-only attack has struggled to finish their overs quota in time in the last ten years, which is why teams pick spinners against India despite them rarely averaging below 45. On the other hand, if England is dumb enough to go without a spinless attack and get Cook banned for slow over rate, it would be handy for us.

Morally, they should. I love that the UK is a multicultural society - all colours and faiths and traditions, but that does not mean all nationalisms. I dislike political nationalism 110%, but supporting a sports team is a minimum ask. :two_thumbs_up:
shortbread Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 :hysterical: I recall that scorecard by Pakistan v Aus. Bad tests happen, but that was a horror show. :giggle: Oh you backstabber, panther was on ur side!!
Muloghonto Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 3-0 is now 'just scraping to a narrow win'. :cantstop: Your W/L ratio is the 2nd worse in test cricket from the main 8 teams. Only the Kiwis have worse then your 0.80. :finger: All those FTBs didnt win much for you, did they? Nobody cares about records made in the amatuer era. FYI, our top 4 batsmen ( Gavaskar, Dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly) average higher in England than any English batsman has managed to average in their careers since the mid 60s.
alexander Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Oh you backstabber' date=' panther was on ur side!![/quote'] I was just :haha: at a terrible performance. Panther surely understands we all chuckle as ineptitude. That said, traditionally Pakistan have been by far the strongest Asian test team. They have had good bowlers since Fazal Mahmood in the 1950s. Shame about the batting, although the odd gem has shown up.
special K Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Root can bowl a few overs of spin. Monty isn't bowling well enough and I doubt Borthwick is the answer. If Finn get himself sorted out he'll cause you trouble and like I said, Anderson will likely just be effective at home now.

Muloghonto Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 This is a different MJ to the one in India. It was a few years ago he was bowling pies and being clobbered all round the park. If you think Indian batsmen would handle this MJ better in Australian wickets, no chance. MJ was bowling with the same fire and venom in India, it was actually in India where the 'new MJ' emerged. MJ will not trouble us. India has never been wonky against sheer pace- we've annihilated Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar & Harmison, MJ is a similar type bowler, only left handed. We've always been undone by swing or nagging seam movement, which is why Philander did the best against us this series. Against Australia, the ones who will trouble us the most are Harris and Siddle.
alexander Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Nobody cares about records made in the amatuer era. FYI' date=' our top 4 batsmen ( Gavaskar, Dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly) average higher in England than any English batsman has managed to average in their careers since the mid 60s.[/quote'] Yes, they do. The game was the same and aside from England no one had an amateur tradition of note. It ended in 1962 (I think). So you dont regard the likes of Bradman, McCabe, 3 W's, Sobers, Hobbs, Hutton, Headley's careers in full (or part measure depending on when they finished) as worthy? :hysterical: You consider yourself a cricket fan? You are a T20 fan.

If Finn get himself sorted out he'll cause you trouble and like I said, Anderson will likely just be effective at home now. Oh cmon now ur taking the mickey. Even you know England doesn't have a real spinner anymore. Broad is still very potent. Anderson has lost it, hoping he will be effective at home will prove to be futile. What I cant understand is how can someone of Tremletts height and build be so damn ineffective!! He cant even bowl tight now, heck the only thing tight about him is that white top he wears!!
