Should Kedar Jadhav be picked in the limited overs sides? [UPDATED 3 YEARS LATER]

These were his scores:

1st League match vs National Performance Squad: India A were 63/5 chasing 235 and Jadhav scored 87 from 53 balls

2nd League match vs Australia A: India A were 38/3 chasing 231 and Jadhav scored 52 from 50 balls

Final vs Australia A: India A were 51/3 chasing 275 and Jadhav scored 78 from 73 balls [against bowling of Kane Richardson, B Cutting, Mitchell Marsh, C McKay]

 

He regularly rescued the team from poor starts to win those matches. He ended up as the Man on the Series playing just half the number of matches, and was also the Man of the Match in Final.

 

That was when I actually started believing this guy should be in the ODI team asap. If he had been brought in at that time, I am sure India would have had a wonderful finisher for 2015 WC.. 

Amazing post! Seems like I wasn't the only one who followed his career closely. One of the key thing people miss about Jadhav is his 'STRIKE RATE' 

You won't find even 3 guys in the history of Indian domestic cricket with a strike above 100 and average above 50. Only guy I knew who did that was Sehwag. 

 

I always believe a combo of high strike and high average is a sign of strong mental player who 'can'  find gap for boundaries and easily rotate strike rather than playing dots and let the bowler get on top.

Btw can't believe that guy Rayadu played over him. Rayadu was another example of 50 plus average but strike of high 70s. Those are your Rahanes, Rayadu, Akash Chopras, Badrinaths etc who can score big when they click but will eat a lot of dot balls in 3 out of 5 matches.

This guy should have been selected when he scored 1000+ runs in 2013 Ranji season. He had excellent list a record back then itself.

Too early to make a determination. He looks like a player that is more adept at playing cheeky shots. I wonder if he has the power to hit the big shots, especially on bigger grounds.
