gakgupta Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Whitewash may not be the right word as we drew one match....but keeping jokes apart, is it good for Indian cricket esp as next world cup is in AUSTRALIA / NZ. This series gave us a preview as to what to expect in next world cup.....So now selectors might wake up and do the inevitable (Sacking the captain) and give some bowlers like PANKAJ SINGH a go... You can always argue that bowlers were not good and blah blah blah....but captain's attitude towards bowling was miserable too ... along with selection errors

Not supporting MS as a captain here but do you want Virat to lead the side with less than 10 months to go have to carry on with Dhoni somehow and after 2015 need to have a new captain and new coach with players who have hunger to do well.

They either concede 30 runs more than par or struggle to defend any score which is 30 runs more than par. We will always struggle to win in Aus/NZ. Our World Cup chances look bleak unless the seamers improve in a big way.

You can imagine the fate against OZ / SA / ENGLAND on these pitches.....not taking credit away from NZ as they were fabulous What if Virat leads us in Australia and we lose he will be smashed have to atleast continue with MS as much as I dont like it.Selecting a new captain will be trouble right now.

Right thing is where Australia or England or other teams give 300-320 runs our great big hearted bowlers give away 340-350 runs :hatsoff: to them.

To have a captain with the possible amount of ODIs that India can play does allow for he to get used to the job. That said the new ODI captain has to be T20 captain. This will also lift a lot of pressure on Dhoni.
