Soorma_Bhopali Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The probem is Dhni seems to have started believing like he has a halo around his head ..the moment you do that , the downfall begins ..with 9 ODI series defeats out 0f 11 played overseas by India in recent years and last overseas win being 2.5 years back ; he should realize he has a big problem on his hea ...but his selections and backing to Ishant,Rohit,Raina and to an extent , Ashwin has been too stubborn ..his favourites have a long rope and poor Rahane,Yuvi and Pujara always seem to have a damocles' sword around their ..he failed to give Pujara a debut in that Dharamsala ODI year back against England when the series was already won and it was a dead rubber ..contrast that to Ishant who is back shamelessly even after that 30-run thrashing by Faulkner ..:whack:

He is not one for bowling plans and bowlers' meetings. When you have senior bowlers like Zaheer, Kumble and Harbhajan, the captain need not worry about all that because the bowlers know what to do. They need to discuss strategy and planning well before they go onto the field. Without that, younger guys in a team can get a bit disoriented. Bowling attacks make good captains and successful teams. This stinks of a boys club, and corruption, I don't know how Indians tolerate politicians to run for office and at the same time be in control of other business and be on the cricket board as well, what a joke.

India does not have a sporting culture, and I don't think India are built for sports in general, it's genetic as well. Indians tend to get complacent and get arrogant and cocky every easily, slightest bit of praise and Indians are thinking they are world beaters, it's the way it is and it can;t be changed. For example, India will win one test match overseas and suddenly they will start believing that all they have to do is turn up and be champions. In Australia we call it "drinking their own bath water".

I think it's a boys club now and is reflective of Indian society in general, India is very corrupt and this is reflecting in the cricket team, look what has happened to India's Olympic Committee as well banned because from the international arena because of corruption and India wont be able to send a team to the Olympics. India sports will never thrive as long as there is corruption.
