Test Championship removed, Champions Trophy is back and will be held in 2017 and 2021.

This is one of the few good changes. The quality of the tournament was really good with just top 8, it'd be great if they could make it a KO like it was originally.

I think the "Champions Trophy" is just the name for the Test Championship and not the ODI tournament. Edit: I guess the Champions Trophy ODI tournament is returning. Not sure I'm a fan of that. There's no need for the Champions Trophy anymore IMO. Would make more sense in having just the 50-over World Cup and World T20 so that those two tournaments feel more special. The ICC believes the last tournament was successful but that's only because India won it. Though they can make a lot of money from another ODI tournament so I can see where they're coming from.

So what? We also had the ODI WC and T20 WC both in 2007.
The ICC confirmed that the proposed World Test Championship would be scrapped and replaced with the Champions Trophy in 2017 and 2021 to strengthen their commercial property. "It proved impossible to come up with a format for a four-team finals event in Test cricket that fits the culture of Test cricket and preserves the integrity of the format," its release said. "The most recent ICC Champions Trophy event proved to be very popular with supporters around the world and the future events will build on this success.

I would have loved a test championship but really in current scenario champions trophy is best for icc commercial interests.Champions trophy does make a mockery of world cup but we could see in future t20 champions trophy.

Sad that more people can't appreciate test cricket. Test championship would have been great but its probably not feasible with the decreasing popularity of test cricket, going by the declining number of people who are turning up at the stadiums. I find test matches played on pitches which are helpful for seamers infinitely more interesting than any ODI or T20 game. Perhaps introducing day/night test matches is the way to go.

Saturday morning, one of the most popular and best team touring but yet home team leading by miles..all the recipe for a huge crowd. There was hardly thousand people in the ground watching today's test. If the weekend numbers were high while weekdays lacked, day and night might help. Day and night might help TV ratings esp in India but it looks like very few series are being watched.

ICC could have organised the test championship at least once in 2016 and could then predicate whether it was a success or not.nonetheless i always loved the CT since its inception, good tournament to watch
