Zak is cleverer bowler then Johnson Zak has more repeatable action But But Johnson is much more effective and better bowler. Why is that? Johnson has only one attribute which he has better then Zak. This question is for trundler fans. What is that one attribute which makes Johnson miles better?

Sooda Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Its not a fair comparision, particularly right now. Age catching up with Zak right now. Of course even at his best he was not as destructive because he did not have the pace, but honestly how many pacemen - in the history of cricket even-have had the kind of purple patch MJ is in right now ... its not just the pace though, its that combined with that low round arm slingy action which makes the bounce so hard to gauge..MJ was born with that and the body of a decathelete... I dare say if MJ had a traditional high arm action like Zak he would not be quite so effective.

MJ keeps the batsman on the back foot and the batsmen generally plays him on the crease, which makes his fuller balls that much more effective. Add to that MJ's accuracy with that short ball, he bangs it into the batsman's ribs and armpits. Zak bowled with skill and hence is a successful bowler even at that pace. However Johnson is on song with sheer pace and accuracy. Even Johnson gives away a few boundary balls, but with Zak, batsmen capitalizes as he doesn't have the pace to trouble them while Johnson hurries on and the batsmen don't get the time to play him the way they want. Its a little too do with the psychologically of the players too.
