G_B_ Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 All in all a decent season I thought, started slow but finished well. And credit where its due, they had the balls to go for a dark ending, no doubt tonnes of people who cant comprehend an ending without rainbows and sunshine will be outraged though. Nowhere close to season 1, but lets be honest it was never gonna live up to that. Still, a good season I felt, with some top top acting by the main cast, albeit with a standard and somewhat convoluted plot. agree with this music was excellent though
vvvslaxman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I haven't watched Season 2. But i hear 2nd season draw lot of inspiration from David Lynch's works.
G_B_ Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Its based on the doings in the actual down in LA right by the name of Vernon? Sort of spoiler in minor aspects if you click on this. http://www.forbes.com/sites/abigailtracy/2015/06/30/the-town-in-true-detective-is-based-on-a-very-real-place-with-a-very-corrupt-past/
Donal Cozzie Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Oh is that what the cool,Hip,alternate crowd are saying these days....sure you felt that way :nice: But here is the deal....a story needs a "closure"....that's the whole point isn't it? Investing in a story for 8 weeks and not getting anything in the end really??? For eg;Di Caprio dying in departed was shocking and sad but despite that shock and tragedy, the story still had a closure....so does many Indian movies where the lovers die despite being tragedies, they have what you call a conclusion or climax. 8 weeks you wonder who killed Ben Caspere and the end is like whatever. Lot of other stuff which made no sense as a viewer, felt cheated in investing in those characters and the performances were pretty average. So yes it was a horrible season I'm many things, but I sure as hell aint a hipster lol. Like I said the plot wasnt exactly thrilling but the acting was spot on and some memorable scenes too. Loved the last scene with Vaughan, really really well done
Desi Cartman Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 second season was actually bad. First was good but not as good as a lot of people made it sound. IMHO nothing can beat Sopranos! As for true detective, even the shield is better than second season.
