Recently, legendary Sunil Gavaskar had said that Rahul Dravid should replace incumbent Duncan Fletcher in coaching role with the team. Asked about Gavaskar's remarks, Ganguly said, "Why not when you have players like Dravid, (Sachin) Tendulkar and (Anil) Kumble. It depends how much time they can give. I think it's an individual decision for every cricketer what he wants do in life. I think it should be left to them," Ganguly said on Saturday. "I'm sure you must have heard what Dravid said yesterday that he's just 'finished', it'd be difficult for him to be on the road for 11 months. Waqar was coach of Pakistan, you can ask him how tough it is," he added. The former left-handed batsman though parried the question if he was interested in taking up the job. "I'm not used to throwing my hat anywhere. I won't be able to answer this question," Ganguly said on the sidelines of the launch of Cricket Association of Bengal's 'Vision 2020' programme with the legendary pace-spin duo of Waqar Younis and Muttiah Muralitharan. Gavaskar had slammed Fletcher for non-performance but BCCI said that the Zimbabwean has full support of the Cricket Board.
