Umar Gul is bowling poorly. Umar Akmal, Shehzad are just glorified sloggers. Rest are not particularly good to be honest. All IPL teams already have 7 or 8 foreign players to choose from and only 4 can play.

I'd say till the jihadi terror ends we allow their people for liver operations etc., student exchange progs., few tourists visas etc.....intl. matches with Pak and IPL inclusion can wait.

The reason leagues like IPL and Big bash are highly successful because of the quality domestic players. Organize a PSL today and I am sure it will go down like BPL due to poor domestic cricketers. BPL had almost same amount of international superstars like IPL - Gayle, Bmac etc. But the domestic players were so poor that it overshadowed international cricketers and tourney became a huge flop. In IPL you will find Indian uncapped players always gives the superstars run for their money. Having seen Sialkot stallions and Faisalabad Wolves, I must say domestic cricket and cricketers are of very poor standard in Pakistan.

Apparently, it is alright for a pakistani if their army sends terrorists in India and kill civilians, but it is racist and unfair for BCCI not to include them in our DOMESTIC league.

Its the govt. of India who is unsure and does flip-flops regarding cricketing ties with Pak.

With regards to greater relations between India and Pakistan it still befuddles me why everything else seems normal aside from cricket.

About Cricket - that happens out there in the open arena watched by millions (unlike playback singing etc) , Its a multiple hour long event. N also in IPL, you will have 1000s of indians cheering for pakistani players...

Well, I guess politics and terrorism shouldn't be mixed too. But you guys don't want to resolve Kashmir by diplomatic channels. If you know what was happening in the background, the talks on Kashmir had gone to great length before the Mumbai attack halted it. Apparently Pakistan doesn't want to find a solution by diplomatic channels. Heck, their national hero Saeed Hafiz doesn't only want Kashmir, he want to rule all over India like "their ancestors" Mugals did. You mix various things, but it's racist, unfair, ... and wahtever not if India does it. At least, denying the Pak players in IPL is a non-violet way to protest against your terrorism policies and actions. Cricket is a widely followed game in Pakistan. And this ban seems to make them cringe very severely. Whole of Pakistan is affected by it, even when India hasn't fired a single bullet. But the real reason of denial of permission to play in IPL is the negative sentiments for the Pakistani people in wake of Mumbai attack. BCCI and franchises just didn't want to have them in the IPL. Also there was business interest for the franchises as putting money on Pakistani players and being told that they can't have them at the very last moment would definitely hurt them. PCB exactly did this, withdrawing all the Pakistani players at the last moment in 2009 citing India is unsecure for Pakistani players. The IPl from 2011 just followed the trend of IPL 2010 - franchises protecting their businesses.
