rkt.india Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari, best known for singing Aashiqui 2's Sunn raha hai, was arrested by the Versova police on Thursday morning for allegedly raping a starlet after falsely promising her marriage. His brother has also been arrested for allegedly threatening the woman. The Versova police said that the woman approached them on Wednesday alleging that Tiwari had raped her after promising marriage to her. The singer-composer later retracted. She further said that his brother had threatened her with dire consequences if she made the sexual assault public. "Tiwari has been arrested under IPC's sections 376 for rape and 506 for criminal intimidation, apart from other sections. His brother has also been arrested," said an official from the Versova police. The official added that the arrested duo would be produced before the Andheri magistrate' s court later in the day, where the police would seek their custody for further investigation. The woman, meanwhile, underwent a medical test at a civic-run hospital, reports of which are awaited. Ankit's advocate Nagesh Mishra said that the charges are "part of a larger conspiracy against the Tiwari brothers as they became famous after Aashiqui 2 success". Mishra added that it was a plan by rivals wherein the girl is being used and said, "Both girl and boy were in a live-inrelationship, then where does the matter of rape arise?" Further details in the case are awaited. Tiwari has won some prestigious awards, including IIFA and Filmfare for best music direction. With his arrest, Tiwari has become the third Bollywood celebrity to be arrested on rape charges in the recent past. Most recently, actor Inder Kumar was arrested on April 25 for allegedly raping and abusing a 22-year-old aspiring actress. What is even more bizarre that some law books clearly say that & I quote "Rape is one of the most difficult ones to prove & even more difficult to disprove ". Meaning unless there is absolutely undeniable proof no one can clearly say whether it was rape or not & in these cases the word of the victim is generally taken as truth in a court of law.

You will find someone somewhere for sure. There are feminists who aggressively support this stuff. There are also people who believe women can not lie about stuff related to sex. So if a woman claims rape, she must have been raped.
