On the topic of Sushma Swaraj - she is extremely capable' date=' one of the senior most leaders and the outgoing Leader of the Opposition so she is certainly justified in asking for a top 4 ministry and she deserves it. If Modi becomes the PM and doesn't give her one of the top 4 ministries then he would only be doing a disservice to his own Govt.[/quote'] Everybody deserves to be where they are

Counting starts in 6.5 hrs from now and the trends are expected by 8 to 9 hours. Why does this timer say counting starts 15 hrs? All the results are due in 15 hours.
Counting starts at 8 am, so 10:30 pm est I posted at 4 pm est , counting would have started in 6.5 hrs. The countdown timer I copied from DeccanHerald was wrong.

Another very, very important battle is in Bhatinda - Harsimrat Badal (wife of Sukhbir Badal) vs Manpreet Badal (cousin of Sukhbir Badal).

Someone on Times Now is saying that for the first time Cong may end up with lesser Lok Sabha MPs than Rajya Sabha MPs (they currently have 69 seats in Rajya Sabha). Seems very' date=' very highly improbable to me..[/quote'] There are two theories with exit polls: 1. They always underestimate the Congress (proved to be the case in 2004 and 2009) 2. They underestimate the winning margin for the winner (same 2004, 2009 elections as also the assembly election results in Rajasthan and MP last year where the BJP seats were under-estimated). If theory # 1 is proved right this time, then the contest might be much tighter than we expect. If theory # 2 is proved right this time, then even God can't save the Congress party

at what time election result will be announced ?
Counting starts in about an hour. It will take at least till evening (IST) for all results to be announced. I think in about 3 hours from the time counting starts, a clear trend should emerge.
