precisely.. and most importantly market and take credit for that. WB people need to understand its the BJP whom they did not vote for is actually coming to their rescue and not the raging cow. I am sure if Mamta didi continues her tantrums over next 5 years for no good reason, she'll be routed in WB by the lotus. That'd leave Kerala as the sole nut case state. Leave them, they are a universe of their own where only left parties and congress exists. No point really investing effort into that state because that's one of the most communally minded state in India and any attempts for BJP to win from there would require gargantuan efforts.

like thats going to happen. Modi will give them special package. Mamata will use it to hire more people in the government of west bengal boosting employment and the economy. People of WB will think mamata is doing a good job. What Modi needs to do is (A) control inflation (B) Strengthen the rupee (linked to A) © Reform section via liberalization to boost FDI (linked to A) Concentrate on the macroeconomics. Let the microeconomics be taken care off by the state. Efficient states will do well. Dud states will fail.

No There is state recently split, they will need help there are too many states still in backwards state... you can't simply dole out packages to a state which is not even controlling illegal immigrants.
i am not saying grant them more money compared to other states but atleast hand out the basic dole/package which modi promised to them.if u are not going to grant them package or not start national projects in bengal then tmc, left will brainwash people how the centre is unconcerned about the state and bjp will again fail to make in roads. i am all for modi using cbi against mamata inthe chit fund scam and ousting the bd immigrants

Do you think he will have funds to grant doles to all states? how do we know WB is in dire need of funds compared to Bihar or North East states? some study required right? If Cneter need to give doles then they have expect some returns from state as well, like controlling immigration, better tax collection etc.

they won 2 seats this time with the modi wave. Clearly that wave wont be as powerful next time. I am all for national projects. For example if Modi wants to invest in railways i am all for building high speed rail links into Kolkota. But i am dead against giving Mamata a check of xxxx crore to invest in the state. I am all for national projects like NHAI which involve multiple states. Like the Delhi Mumbai corridor Modi should invest in the Kolkota Delhi ganga corridor.

One project that really needs to take off is the Mumbai-Delhi industrial Corridor. The political base is now more or less sorted and a majority government in place. Also a strong North-West presence in parliament within BJP will help.

Modi should start/continue his development agenda in all states and special packages should be for those states who deserve... I don't think WB deserves any special treatment, especially when the illegal immigrants are ruling the roost there...

Yep of course! Kerala's issues are totally different from that of India's. That's why I said, its a whole different universe there and is impervious generally to national level trends. With the exception of two muslim dominated constituencies where even a lizard would win if put up as candidate of the IUML, everywhere else it is totally an unpredictable seesaw between the LDF and UDF. However of late there is a growing trend of liberal hindus who hitherto used to vote for LDF are now migrating towards BJP. Best evidence of that was in Trivandrum where the BJP candidate O Rajagopal gave a real run for money for Shashi Tharoor of the UDF, with the Left LDF coming in a distant third. That is a first in Kerala's history, and also showed a general rise in number of BJP votes with a corresponding decline in LDF votes. But then again, there is still a very strong core LDF voting base in Kerala which will be hard to dislodge. BJP needs to find charismatic young leaders, and also if needed strike deals with the smaller Christian parties like Kerala Congress (M) to have any chance of succeeding in the short term. it requires not an Amit Shah but probably tens of Shashi Tharoors with their charm, charisma and sophistication to win votes. That's why in summary, BJP can forget about Kerala for another 15 years at least.

That can wait...Rail corridor is the most important now. Nothing happened in Rail sector for long.

the centre has enormous funds and no,the doles are granted to states which dearly need them or to the states where u want to make inroads.this govn will make sure they market it properly and take up the issue of bd migrants by the next elections and malign the image of mamata.the centre will make sure such high scale evm rigging is lessened in the state

I cannot agree with that, which is a bit of narrow minded thinking. If Modi gives Mamta money and Mamta puts that money into effective use and thereby boost WB's employment and economy, then that's to mamta's credit really. Anybody can dole out money from the center pool if they have, it is proper utilization that is a challenge. I'd also say Modi grant out funds but earmarked for pre-approved projects only. Appoint people to ensure these are used only for such purposes by the state government, and market those well to the people. Use yojana naming conventions such as "Atal Behari Vajpayee bla blah yojana" or "Sardar Patel yojana" to remind people.

Also hopefully Modi sticks to his word having a council of CMs, which meet up once a month to discuss issues, progress, and set objectives etc. Any development and growth to be undertaken by India will need to be driven by state leaders.

see this is what give me hope.from 6% to 16%!! by 2019 with more anti incumbency against mamata' date='this figure can easily reach 25% and can easily yield close to 12 seats in WB[/quote'] last two assembly elections the bjp have polled a grand sum of 0 in the state In 1999 as well there was a spike in the lok sabha for the bjp when they came to power.

MK Stalin has taken back his offer to resign as the Treasurer of the DMK hours after offering to quit owning responsibility for his party's dismal performance in national election. Mr Stalin was the face of the DMK's campaign, and his party failed to get a single seat in Tamil Nadu. Senior party leader Durai Murugan said party chief M Karunanidhi had advised Mr Stalin against such move even as other leaders had asked him not to take such a 'tragic decision" as they were all with him. "So he accepted our request and leader's advice also and withdrew" his resignation, he told reporters.
