Irrespective of candidate, bjp now will face real competition in Gujarat now that Modi is going national but anandiben has things going in favor. Right caste, female leader, and very well known in urban areas of gujarat

Sachin=GOD Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 RTI query- Gujarat government says disclosing assets and liabilities of CM and ministers not in larger public interest Mumbaikar Anil Galgali’s RTI query on the assets and liabilities of Gujarat CM Anandiben and council of ministers has been reportedly turned down. A Times of India (TOI) report says that the query has been rejected saying it is not in the "larger public interest". In a reply to the query, Gujarat government's under secretary (cabinet) & public information officer PV Patel said, "The information sought cannot be furnished since information available to a person in this fiduciary relationship and the information sought is personal information, the disclosure of which has no relationship to public authority ..." TOI reports that Patel has also quoted a 2012 Supreme Court order where the court held that income tax returns fall under "personal information". The move is surprising as the Union government, Supreme court and many others state governments like Mahatashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have made facts of assets and liabilities of ministers and judges public. I have heard (both from media and from some Gujarati friends) that she is very, very tough and not corrupt.

Didn't know that. Then its quite surprising that she was chosen. She is 72 and Amit Shah is now National President so most probably both are out of the race for the next elections...
