According to the Hindustan Times, the morphed material was created with express purpose of provoking communal riots. The Cyber Crime Investigating Cell (CCIC) officers of the Mumbai crime branch told the paper that, "the page on Facebook was created in 2013," and had close to 50,000 likes. A source in CCIC told HT, that the creator used a fake identity to start the page and then, "initially put positive contents so that the page attracted followers." The offensive content was uploaded nearly a year later, over the past weekend. Pune techie killed, SMS boasts of taking down 'first wicket Police are investigating the possibility of a conspiracy in the fatal attack on an IT graduate after members of the radical Hindu Rashtra Sena allegedly circulated a text message referring to fall of the "first wicket" over offensive Facebook photographs. Joint commissioner of police Sanjay Kumar said on Wednesday that immediately after the gruesome murder, an SMS was circulated, proclaiming, "Pahili wicket padli" (the first wicket has fallen). Considering the contents of the messages exchanged by the group's members and the weapons they were carrying, the police are now probing whether the attack was planned in advance.

Actually can anybody tell me what this guy posted and why he posted it. It is clearly a horrific incident but let's be clear, this is not Europe. I remember when Bal Thackeray died, one if my friends posted "balls to Thackeray". My immediate reaction was to call him and ask him to take it down. That is the world we live in. Ofcourse reaction would have been same had he put up a derogatory picture of Prophet. He also would have been battered. But maybe spin there would have been given of Hindu provocateur hurting Muslim sentiments and the backlash.

Discriminate Indiscriminately. Words to live by. But I doubt, libtards, sickulars and pissfuls can stand the scrutiny in such a setup.

Why do not they take appropriate action against people involved in such activities. Police is theirs. Who is stopping them! What communal angle ? Its muslims who are being killed, especially the ones with beard and cap so how is not communal ? As for state vs centre, when did that stop BJP from making statements against UP govt ? Also, when was the last time BJP said that SS or MNS should be punished for their acts ? No one here is saying Congress is any better but what has BJP said about SS for their antics as they are the part of NDA ?

When have people here stated that one community deserve more security than the other ? The chutiapanti is to make laws that stop freedom of speech and it was all started by Congress but I dont see it ending with BJP.

Whether you support BJP or Congress, how can this be allowed in the country ? How can netas come on TV and say "haan mara". Since when has this become legal ? As for the pictures, people can post whatever they want and how they want. If you dont like it then file a complaint and see if the laws allow it to be removed. Why does a person have to be beaten or be killed for making fun of someone ? Half of RSS inspired desis make fun of MK Gandhi, I used to hear people call him names in delhi so what should we about those people, kill them ?

I don't have the patience or incentive to present news links like a certain world vision representative on this forum that only pops up to start threads of a certain hue. Still, I meant debate in India as a whole and wasn't insinuating anything about the dispositions of the forum (and its members). The chutiapanti is to make laws that stop freedom of speech and it was all started by Congress but I dont see it ending with BJP. That may be true and it would certainly be politically prudent for them to keep the fissures alive and not a take position one way or another given the current environment. But you are being disingenuous if you don't think BJP has to walk through a minefield to resolve some of these issues.
