The double standards is to our advantage and not disadvantage. While growing up, we had a mentally dis-balanced kid in our colony, who use to become violent at very slight provocation. So we avoided him as much as possible. We used to joke and tease and abuse every one else but left this guy alone. It was not double standards. That's what is happening now. If today Hinduism is looked at with respect and considered peaceful, it is a good thing for us. We are counted as the sane guys, someone you can joke with and hang around. As soon as our religion is mentioned, people do not look at us with suspicion or try to walk around us on tip-toes to avoid insulting our sentiment. People like the petitioner will either just be looking for attention or want to drag us to the level of those other religions.

You have already grasped the total essence of Hinduism to such an extent that you probably have never required to visit a temple in your life, but let me explain from the perspective of us common folks who once in a while follow the primitive practice of visiting temples-Shoes are banned inside the temple premises....Yes some sadhu high on Ganja in the old ages has established this rule probably so without questioning the scientific rationale behind that we common folks follow that rule,so please excuse us.....Since the ratio of common folks like myself exceeds geniuses like yourself who have understood the philosophy of religion completely,we do get offended once in a while. Now as per the above explanation and if you look at the image,it clearly shows a person dressed in the image of god holding a shoe. Now you say Hinduism is a peaceful religion-Totally agree there...one concept we have probably understood really well,Hence there was just a petition raised through the channels of Law-No death threats,No Hate Mob-A meek petition through the court of law-Now what is not peaceful about that? Let us take the subject of religion as a social factor-The sensitivity of such a topic is very high in a country like India,so would you blame the judge for not totally ignoring that? You keep enforcing the value of liberalism but isn't that just the opposite extreme of forcing conservative rules on someone?Being peaceful and cool doesn't mean letting people walk all over you-A pu**y is as uncool as a stuck up ass***e.It is totally within the constitutional rights for someone to get offended...The whole concept of Hinduism is that it is a way of life,you have chosen the path of being a liberal who finds peace in mocking his religion and this guy probably finds peace in a certain world he created for himself in terms of his conservative rules-So you are technically mocking this guy for his beleifs that contradicts to what you are saying. As far as Dhoni or any other celebrity goes,a court summon to a celebrity doesn't go in a scented letter or with a bouqet...It is the same for everyone-Ignoring that is a punishable offence and clearly an offence has been commited here so hence there is a justifiable non-bailable warrant. Now no one thinks Dhoni will be in Jail...celebrities get away with rape and murder,so this is nothing in comparison to that-Now Dhoni needs to fire his existing legal advisor and needs to hire a new one because he is going to need it to get out of the jam he is in.
