Crookbond Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Sonia Maino marries an Indian' date=' becomes Indian. Sania Mirza marries a pakistani, remians Indian.[/quote'] I am not the one questioning "nationality" here based on marriage.
AmreekanDesi Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 She's def more world famous than the badminton player. But def someone like VVS or azharuddin or some other hyderabadi sportsperson would have also worked
Mariyam Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 But this minority appeasement from TRS there are more deserving candidates than her. Many more. Oh yeah. This is minority appeasement. Muslims all over Telangana are so 'appeased' now that Sania Mirza is the brand ambassador. I mean TRS is going to clean sweep the Muslim vote based on this. Brilliant!!!
RedFever Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 She's def more world famous than the badminton player. But def someone like VVS or azharuddin or some other hyderabadi sportsperson would have also worked Mohammad 'Match-fixer' Azharuddin as the brand ambasaddor of telangana :haha:

Crookbond Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Neither am I. Just stating facts. Yes, equating marriage to nationality = fact, no?
PBN Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 She's def more world famous than the badminton player. But def someone like VVS or azharuddin or some other hyderabadi sportsperson would have also worked lol, Saina Nehwal has accomplished WAY MUCH MORE than Sania Mirza has in her field. At topic, don't see any reason why Sania can't be an ambassador for Hyderabad.
Kalia_Test Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Sania Mirza @MirzaSania · 10h 1. I am married to Mr. Shoaib Malik, who is from Pakistan. I am an Indian, who will remain an Indian until the end of my life. Does anyone know how to embed tweets? The code that Twitter gives is not working :-(
Mariyam Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 If Honda publishes an ad, does everyone who sees the ad go out and buy a Honda ? No. But some do. If Honda were to name Sania Mirza, say over VVS Laxman, as their brand ambassador, do you think it would also amount to minority appeasement? Would you say that they trying to make the brand Honda more popular among Muslims?
seedhi Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Yes' date=' equating marriage to nationality = fact, no?[/quote']No, just facts:
Kalia_Test Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 If Honda were to name Sania Mirza' date=' say over VVS Laxman, as their brand ambassador, do you think it would also amount to minority appeasement? Would you say that they trying to make the brand Honda more popular among Muslims?[/quote'] Mariyamjee...I don't think anyone sane will object to Sania as brand ambassador...She has carried herself well and has some good accomplishments...no doubt on that...If her accomplishments were the reason she was chosen, then no issues...However, thats not the case unfortunately As localites, we can clearly see the vote bank politics of KCR - TRS...We have Hyderabad local elections soon and as you might know, Hyderabad has >40% muslims...There is no way this did not play a part in Sania's selection... As I mentioned earlier, it would have been better to have a panel of ambassadors - especially since it is a newly formed state and needs branding....
seedhi Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 If Honda were to name Sania Mirza' date=' say over VVS Laxman, as their brand ambassador, do you think it would also amount to minority appeasement?[b'] Would you say that they trying to make the brand Honda more popular among Muslims?Actually, that would be a distinct possibility. The jury is out on how many Muslims actually care for this sort of tokenism, but the intent of TRS in naming Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador is open to scrutiny.
Crookbond Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 No' date=' just facts:[/quote'] The logic behind the so called "fact" equates marriage to nationality.
seedhi Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 The logic behind the so called "fact" equates marriage to nationality. There is no logic, just facts: Sonia Maino marries an Indian, becomes Indian. Sania Mirza marries a pakistani, remians Indian.
Crookbond Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 There is no logic' date=' just facts:[/quote'] Let me quote another fact for you - both are Indian citizens. Doesn't matter whom they married or slept with before marriage.
Stuge Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Why do they need ambassador in the first place to waste public money .I thought they didn't had much funds for their region .
