When will this so called misery "Dhoni" end for indian spectators?

Can someone pls get this into the brain of Dhoni that " Bowlers win Test matches ". I am so sick and tired of seeing lousy field placings and pathetic selection of players ..... For instance, in current ongoing match, a orthodox gully fielder would have taken atleast 3 to 4 catches from last 2 days, had there one placed. What we see a leg-slip fielders for pace bowlers for reasons only god knows What is dhawan doing in the first slip.....He is far too back and missed 4 to 5 in last 3 matches.....Dont they realize these simple things... In which world would be Jadeja; the front line spinner for Team india in test matches. India has such a great history of producing and playing world class spinners. it's a disgrace that our first choice spinner is worst as compared to teams like australia and S.Africa... After all these brain-less tactics and pathetic selection, i still watch test cricket as i am fanatic about it but would make my whole week pathetic... This column is not a knee-jerk reaction. I have written this based on my painful experience from last few years. yeahhh...he won us test match but that happens once in a while... If he is a street smart cricketer, send him to where he belongs

I don't like Dhoni captaincy but few things he did do well. Back Vijay when no one else did. Even after home Aus series many didn't back him like me. Hack. :csk: connection blah blah blah. Turned out to be genius move. Everyone calling for Yuvi axe. Yuvi turns out to be player of tournament. His faith in Ishant and Rohit may convert to long term benifit lets see. Not everything Dhoni has done has been good. His captaincy is negative and maybe he is forced to be I don't know, but many selections of his have been rubbish too. His time is up but he was not a bad captain.

Way past his shelf life. Should have quit captaincy after 2011 WC win. Even captaincy from Ganguly and Dravid was half assed towards the end of their stint.

Ah, not this crap again of let's just pick out a captain's weaknesses only and sack him. No captain gets it right all of the time. Dhoni gets lots of things right, and others wrong. It's foolishness to outright blame him and ask him to be sacked right in the middle of a test series where we're 1-0 ahead and a lot is due to, yes his decisions. This thread would have far more merit if talking about Dhoni's decreasing wicket keeping skills with his age, his lack of defensive technique and batting against the moving ball are used as arguments to remove him from the test side. All of those things aren't really that much of an issue in ODI cricket but please stop simplifying decisions/field placings/selections to only those you don't like or have an issue with. It's downright stupid to constantly blame Dhoni for selection of Binny or Jadeja and then pretend that guys like Bhuvneshwar just magically appeared in the test team, so please stop insulting our intelligence and your own. :hysterical:

Honestly this team will still suck with a better captain especially overseas. Even during the maharathi days we were hardly consistent overseas. Problem is we never had a potent bowling attack especially in the pace dept.

He lacks the instincts to turn a test around and win it. He tires bowlers, goes 1 bowler short, stands too far back with slips, no aggression, no fight in the field. We just need new leadership thats all im saying.

Neither kohli nor pujara are ready & are failing with the bat as well so unless they turn it around big time dhoni is here to stay atleast 2 more years.

Yeah...Bhuvi has struggled 5 to 6 years in domestic cricket and performed consistently to earn a place in indian side.....He is not hand-picked by Dhoni just like sehwag or pathan was handpicked by ganguly ..... somebody has to play in XI and bhuvi has rightfully earned his place .....How can you give credit to dhoni for his success ....yeahh; if rohit or ishant or raina is successful in test side, then credit goes to dhoni .... not for players like pujara / rahane / bhuvi ... And moreover, who do you think is the best spinner in india? ..... I think it's Ojha and most of the ICF'ers might concur with me ...Bits and pieces players like jadeja are good for ODI's but not for test matches .... Then the argument comes as ojha is not even the team ..... yeah.... bang one.... all the credit goes to dhoni for that If Umesh was not used as a net bowler and used well with 6 overs per spell, he wouldn't have injured ... I still respect him for his tatcis in ODI's but certainly not for test

I was too young at that time but that's what my impression was ..... I was told that irfan Pathan has taken 9 or 10 wickets in U-19 match against Pakistan and next thing ....he was playing for India ahead of other experience pacers at that time ...

Irfan made his Ranji debut when he was 16. Already had a lot of FC experience by the time, he played for India. A lot of players have been picked from U19, not just Pathan, Yuvraj, Raina, RP, Ishant, Kaif, Sodhi, etc. but that does not mean they were handpicked by captain. Neither Sehwag was handpicked. Sehwag played his first ODI in 1999. Ganguly was not the captain then. He was scoring lots of runs in Ranji Trophy already, thrashing bowlers all over the park. The reason he was picked. Handpicked means picked raw when they have not even played FC cricket. Likes of Munaf, Kamran Khan, and Sudeep Tyagi were handpicked by their captains and coaches when they had not even played much age group cricket.
