If used positively he can do better.I doubt any of our spinners can do well if just defensively in first innings.He was giving more flight in 2nd innings here maybe due to pitch but match situation was gone :cantstop:

They are always a defensive option. You can play him as a 5th bowler to contain, not as 4th. You need at least 4 attacking bowlers. We are missing a half decent leg spinner here because pitches are drying quickly.

We are missing a half decent leg spinner here because pitches are drying quickly.[/quote'] We dont have any reliable leggie.They dont even contain :giggle: Left arm spinners can be attacking too if allowed to bowl like that.Can use variations in pace plus accuracy to get wickets.In 2nd innings,someone accurate like Jaddu can hit rough more often.So its all about usage. Agree about using Ashwin/Jaddu as 5th bowler only.4 seamers is must.

Finger spinners who really give it a rip like swann with a classical action or bedi are hard to come by.

Its also about finding the right length and pace to bowl here.Its different to India.
