Texan Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 For T20s - Suresh Raina For ODIs - Rohit Sharma For Tests - Dhoni for now for lack of a viable replacement. I am not yet convinced that Kohli has the temperament to be a captain of a national side.

If there is a young test captain and a senior ODI captain, too many things can be compromised. Players can be made to undermine the young captain, group-isms can happen. Players will try to curry favors of the senior captain. Young captain might not be sure of his position so might try to suck up to the ODI captain, etc, etc. It is a recipe for disaster having separate captain with one so powerful
asterix Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 It's fine to discuss all these options (good time pass) but realistically nothing will happen...Dhoni will not allow any other long term power centre to emerge with whom there could naturally be comparisons and him being shown as a poor captain... He would like to have complete control till he retires and till that time he'll try his best to support his " group" of players, in whichever way possible.. This is where that two faced Arun Jaitley has hurt the most being one of the administrators in the BCCI... He has all the power at his disposal, had numerous opportunities to topple the Srini AppleCart... But being a scheming lawyer, a Congress mole in BJP, he's done nothing significant to assert himself and do anything fruitful to help Delhi players, especially GG... So, unless there's a political intervention by BJP (Amit Shah already became GCA Chief), Dhoni has smooth sailing till he hangs his L-Guard (Abdominal Guard).... God forbid if Dhoni plays smart and joins BJP then many of us have to grudgingly support him.... :mad:
