Old guy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Same way no one should speak about Ajmal's action from 2009-2014. The umpires are the judging authority and when they didn't have a problem with him for 5 years (after he was tested), why should we? Are you seeing the picture now? No I am not ..umpires earlier were not asked to do this job so seriously ..earlier it was in extreme cases you got reported heck cases were guy got reported once a year now they are asked to report even slight chucking and this happened from last year You cannot compare current system with older system..

Who said that? Any official reports that told umpires to NOT be strict? Provide the proof of that statement. Are you seeing what happens when we switch to legal speak?
sensible-indian Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Also I can use that argument to say since umpires were told NOT to be strict, guys like Ojha (who extend less than Ajmal) are way more likely to NOT get reported at all. That doesn't mean their action is perfectly fine.
Old guy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Who said that? Any official reports that told umpires to NOT be strict? Provide the proof of that statement. Are you seeing what happens when we switch to legal speak? Cannot you see the trend ? Umpires are reporting almost in every match it's pretty clear their role is different earlier there was huge stigma with getting reported and now you know anyone who chucks little but will get reported.. It started with Samuels I think but they clearly are far more strict now ..

That doesn't mean their action is perfectly fine. :cantstop: So now the validity of umpires' actions all these years comes into question. Bud, this is why I keep saying - chuck out the technicalities. See Ojha's action. It is marginal. He must be tested. We can keep playing this technicality game all day long.
kumar713 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Ojha or Narine won't get reported when playing CL:beee: Wait for Internationals to begin
sensible-indian Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Then let him get reported ...that's all I am saying no ? He is paying champions league let's see what happens .. That's not the debate is it? You said I had no right to say Ojha's action is dodgy since umpires themselves didn't report him all these years. But yes, I agree that we have to see what happens now. Its not just Ojha. Guys like Hafez, Junaid Khan have marginal actions too. Hafeez is better than Ojha but isn't clean either.

It's marginal according to you not everyone ...and ojha will be subject to umpiring standard which is today and not from 2010 ..

You said I had no right to say Ojha's action is dodgy since umpires themselves didn't report him all these years. You can say whatever you want but all I said is it has no weightage it's pointless and powerless and does not matter in current system Because if views of public got weightage every 2 nd bowler will get tested after every second match ..hope you see what problem is :winky:
Old guy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Basically what you and I think does not matter ...what some troll on twitter thinks in anger after losing does not matter and rightfully so
Old guy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Ojha or Narine won't get reported when playing CL:beee: Wait for Internationals to begin Yeah that's why samules and that Indian quick from Rajasthan got banned in ipl first ?:winky:

That can be said for every topic that is being discussed in this forum. No amount of Dhoni bashing is going to change what will happen with the Indian team. We are not here to make a change. We are just here to discuss. Public weightage is not what should matter. The process is clear - If your action cannot be categorized as a safe one, then you are marginal. Umpies are implementing them more strictly (and rightly so) and we will have to wait and watch what happens.

You just do not want to set this system where people get tested based on popular opinion that never ends well
sensible-indian Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 That's what I am saying no ? You just do not want to set this system where people get tested based on popular opinion that never ends well See I didn't use popular opinion to say one should be tested. Since you asked me some questions, I just used the opinion of neutral fans (not trolls) to point out things. Like neutral fans consider guys like Lyon, Ashwin clean. By the way, Ojha too uses full sleeves NO MATTER what. All the bowlers who have been reported have been wearing full sleeves and they have been banned. The full sleeves (in every condition no matter what) is a pretty good indicator that a bowler is marginal.
rkt.india Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 And anyone with the naked eye can see that Bhajji's doosra is illegal and his normal action is doubtful too. Ajmal's allegations being proven does not mean Bhajji's will be proven too. But that doesn't dissolve the doubts reg Bhajji's action. Considering the tests that have been going on, no one can say for sure that Bhajji would clear these tests. The old tests hold no value now. See ICC is doing a good job. Now they should be ruthless and go after everyone doubtful. If they clear it, cool. If not, too bad. Look at Adnan Rasool. Doubtful case. Bowlers with such doubtful cases will keep popping up and what happens to all those wickets they take before they get reported? We should finish this problem once and for all. I actually want Bhajji and Ojha to get reported. I want to see if they can clear it. We have taken the right steps in eradicating crappy actions and we need to go for the kill. Bhajji hasn't bowl doosra anymore in international cricket for last 5-6 years. His regular deliveries weren't in doubt.
sensible-indian Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Bhajji hasn't bowl doosra anymore in international cricket for last 5-6 years. His regular deliveries weren't in doubt. Then I stand corrected reg that issue.

sensible-indian Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Then ban full selves and see what happens not ban bowlers based on it . Unfortunately that's not practical. Can open up a legal battle too. In cold weather conditions, bowlers may want to use full sleeves. What ICC is doing is great. Its going after bowlers ruthlessly. If a bowler looks dodgy (ok to some) and he uses full sleeves all the time, then he will be in the radar to get reported and tested. Soon without even saying it, ICC will put an end to this full sleeves business. :cantstop:
