HippoSucks Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 :proud: apple annihilating smasung It doesn't matter what the general public is buying. The quality of the phone matters much more, and there Samsung is in a league of its own.
Old guy Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 galaxy s6 has got 5.5 inch screen ( more or less confirmed ) :hmmm: :--D s5 has got thick bezels and if they include apple style fingerprint , it will be huge I have a feeling htc or Samsung atleast one of them will make perfect phone this year Htc just needs better camera Btw Samsung bezels are actually small as finger print thing is shaped as rectangle rather than circle so :nervous:
velu Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 mostly HTC will drop that dual lens 4MP camera .. in HTC E8 ( plastic version of M8 ) they had normal 13MP or 16MP camera.. rumors are that apple is working on dual lens camera now :cantstop: phile schiller or someone will come and say how awesome is to have a dual lens 8MP camera in iPhone 6S :cantstop:

But htc is not gonna use camera it used in cheaper phones this one would have really bigger sensor and I hope they get it right because they are so close to making perfect android phone even got battery life right in last gen ..

moniker Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 samsung dumping snapdragon .. expected this but not so early .. 95% of the retail might not be knowing what snapdragon is .. but n/w providers can decide whether to go with exynos backed chispet or not big big risk What about the US market? Don't they have sd edition for the US and an exynos "international" edition just because they fear there won't be any takers for exynos in the US?
Old guy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 What about the US market? Don't they have sd edition for the US and an exynos "international" edition just because they fear there won't be any takers for exynos in the US? that was not the reason they earlier used SD because of 4g compatibility (even apple uses qualcomm stuff but difference is qualcomm only releases it to third party late in year ) this year i guess that is not problem and also SD 810 has over heating issues (which they say are fixed now ) also earlier qualcomm used krait cores (their custom designed ) now they are not doing that so differences are now not in cores but only design According to a new report from Korea, Samsung's Exynos 7420 can have its Cortex A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz, while the optimal clock speed for the 20nm Snapdragon 810, which also uses Cortex A57 cores, is only 1.6 GHz. so unless samsung ****s up badly they should be have as good chip :hmmm:
Old guy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 more info about lte thing .. quacomm used to put lte modem on soc itself (example sd801 ) which saved lot of power but now i guess its not needed (you can search urself lot of info which i dont want to post :P ) i think sd 805 had separate lte modem(same with iphone ) probably velu can tell us if older exynos chips even supported lte ? i think there is reason they never release axynos lte s5 but do release exynos note with lte ..(i read about it long time ago will try searching for it ) in short ...they chose qualcomm in past because of LTE mainly and now they no longer have to depend on them for that .
moniker Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Makes sense. But if they go for exynos can't anyone take them to court for violating the GPL? I'm assuming that samsung don't provide the source.
