Precambrian Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 True. Plasma technology finally has died. LG after poor losses last year.. closed down plasma. Only thing that can come close to picture quality of Plasma is from OLED. LED/LCD can never ever get there. But over a period they killed us by overloading TVs with all the technical jargons. Contrast ratio was the single most important thing in a TV. Nothing can beat Plasama in that. But over a period 4k, subfield frequency.. all those things just blinded the average consumer. I don't think anyone talks about tha anymore. Same thing happened with camera. 14.5 mega pixels. 20 mega pixels.. No one really knew about sensor size which was more important than pixel size. Same with CD player. CD players are bulky granted. But CD > any mp3.. no matter how much sampling we do. Over a period they started downgrading the key features and promoted trivial features to make them change the product every so often. I am glad Apple doesn't make Washing machine, Refigerator, Television. People might replace every two years just to be in step with "latest and greatest technology" :two_thumbs_up: Agree!
Sachin=GOD Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 No they don't . There was one facebook sharing of "thinnest phone" where customers lambasted the article for promoting thinness. It is a highly over-rated selling point. Most customers, especially the younger ones, want the thinnest and lightest device.
vvvslaxman Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Most customers' date=' especially the younger ones, want the thinnest and lightest device.[/quote'] If the manufactures don't sell? There are only a handful of them? They will stop buying cell phones? Most of the younger ones can't afford expensive phones. They depend on their parents. My 14 year old cousin has a thick phone. In my observation they only care about brand rather than features. Apple iphone a status symbole. Beat headphons another status symbol. There is no real analysis on their part about what they need. They are not matured enough even to analyze that. I don't think they make thin phones to cater to them. They make it to promote it as an "upgrade". http://www.phonearena.com/news/Poll-what-do-you-prefer-a-ultra-thin-handset-or-a-slightly-thicker-phone-with-a-bigger-battery_id64840
moniker Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Yes they are 64 bit Ram should be 3 gb minimum in next flagships No upgrade won't happen in these traditional phones but I am sure you have heard of project ara ? Also opposite might happen like macbook where you cannot upgrade ram as this is done to save space :cantstop: To get any use out of a 64 bit instruction set we should either have apps that require 64 bit integer operations or devices that have at least 4 GB RAM. And there isn't going to be any app that needs 4 GB of memory anyway. It's a case of hardware developing at a rapid pace and software lagging behind. Even in PCs, the only use for 64 bit I see apart from gaming is for extracting zips lol. Can't even be used for viewing large spreadsheets, microsoft recommends 32 bit over 64 bit office.

App will only come if there is hardware and if there is no hardware to push limits there will be no app or game to push limit so I am actually fine with this current scenario . Only thing is now upgrade time will get bigger noe you will in near future own phones as long as you long laptops as everything is maturing . BTW apple I think made 64 bit compulsory so every app in near future will be 64 bit .
