Cricketics
i really want jaffer to go to Aus... he is nice technical batsman who can play very useful role against lee and co.... yesterday also he played a good knock just that he got out on decent delivery from actor.. it happens.. kabira
over biggest problem for past year is lack of big innings...our batters have lost that art...reason we had good 2000-2004, it was big hundred by big 4.. we need big innings back and I think Dravid/Laxman will start that again Link to comment
theguyinallblue
Yuvi can not open in Tests..unless.we make Dravid as opener..to accommodate Yuvi in middle order.. Ganguly should thank Dravid to save his career as Test player..when he came to open ..just for Ganguly so that he can be accommodated.. Yuvi is gunning for MIddle order spot.. since we have no opener knocking at the door of selectors for test opening.. KKD and jaffer can sigh a but of relief.... it was Ganguly/VVS and Yuvi... VVS is safe....so its between Ganguly and Yuvi.. may be...Yuvi will not get an chance in second test as well... but failure in 4 innings for Ganguly..will be curtains for this test career at least.. fineleg
Here, hoping that Laxman scores a big one tomorrow. As for post mortem: Pak bowling was not that threatening apart from Shoaib Akhtar. India simply threw the wickets and hence the initiative. Wow! Chandan. You do say "India simply threw it away and lost initiative". But you wonder why I'm fuming and furious? :D I'm fuming exactly because of this. Link to comment

fineleg
FL Vindicated:D Completely :D I'm even agreeing with Gambit  to some extent - "frittered away a golden start", "silly strokeplay" Frittered is exactly what India did, and exactly why I feel like smashing the noses of some of our players. ludhianvi
India had a good start but everything went wrong after the dismissal of Jaffer. -Karthik: hung his bat to dry and off balance and playing away from his body. -Jaffer: Huge lbw candidate -Dravid: looked good at the start, lapse of concentration. He was being a bit too greedy trying to flick that for another four. That was the Pakistani bowling plan, to pitch the ball wide and leave a gap on the legside and play across the line. That's why Lawson was ecstatic when they got Dravid's wicket. Tendulkar: really bad call, perhaps it was due to the fact that Danish and Yousaf were converging and thought he could make it  Dhoni: good contribution, and another lapse in concentration. Perhaps he was injured and wanted to go after the bowling. Not really needed at that point Laxman: batted very well so far and some stunning shots. Needs to stay till the end and protect the tail. Laxman really has to farm the strike and let the tail play around him. Kumble, Harbhajan, and Zaheer can do that. Not so sure about Munaf, he'll be entertaining when he bats tonight. Looking towards atleast 100+lead Link to comment

ludhianvi
u missed ganguly.. Yes Indeed Ganguly: was thinking about the massage that he was about to get during the tea interval and this resulted in the lapse of concentration and his castle got rattled:two_thumbs_up: Link to comment

Guest dada_rocks
Dravid dismissal may have been fortuitous Munaf patel bowled similar leg break at the end of first day on off stump line ball might have hit sthg.. no need to worry dravid will come good in second inning... Link to comment
