Nitish Kumar’s latest manoeuvre in the battle for supremacy in Bihar seems to have escaped national media focus. After failing to convince the Governor of majority, Nitish Kumar’s dominant faction of the JD(U) demanded the status of opposition party for the day Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi seeks vote of confidence. JD(U) Legislature Party Leader in Bihar Legislative Assembly Vijay Kumar Chaudhary requested Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary to recognise his party as the main opposition in the House and make seating arrangements accordingly in the House.

JD(U) ruling party JD(U) opposition party also. :cantstop: Dekh tere Bihar ki haalat kya ho gayi bhagwan Kitna badal gaya Nitish Kumar....
all this cause of his ego towards modi the truth is that if he would be with the BJP Jd(u)+BJP would have all 40 seats in bihar. He would have been the undisputed ruler.

Bihar political crisis: Speaker replaces BJP's Leader of Opposition with JDU (Nitish) camp leader
Patna: The political crisis in Bihar is reaching its crescendo as a day before the crucial floor test, state Assembly Speaker Udai Narain Choudhary notified Vijay Chaudhary of Janata Dal (United) (Nitish camp) as Leader of Opposition replacing Nand Kishore Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP MLAs protested outside Assembly Speaker's chamber in Patna on Thursday to protest the removal of BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav as the Leader of Opposition. The development comes a day before Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is to prove his majority on the floor of the House. Manjhi has called for a Cabinet meeting at 5 pm on Thursday.

not joking but impose presidents rule. Call elections in 2 months time. People of bihar deserve better regardless of who wins. There is 0 governance taking place
Let's see what happens tomorrow - no need to take any decisions right now. If they do impose Presidents rule then RJD-JDU will target them and play victim by saying that BJP first supported Manjhi and then imposed Presidents rule.

Nightmare in what sense? A win at this time is not important...
Well nightmare in the sense that governance is suffering big time. Bihar has effectively had no government for the last 2 months or so. Lets assume Nitish kumar does get the chair back. It will just be a weak government with Jd(u) legislators hopping ship.

ABP news snap poll BJP+ 42%, RJD+JDU 57 % :bye: BJP
its too early as we saw in delhi fortunes can change rapidly. The key to this battle will be how efficiently each combine decided to share seats. Already we are seeing that Pappu Yadav is becoming a major thorn within the RJD itself. Is seats are not distributed in an efficient matter independents can suck votes out of both alliances. One thing is clear with the poll the BJP will certainly cannot afford any mistakes.

"Nitish is now repeatedly saying he had corrected his blunder that he committed by making Manjhi the chief minister but his apologies will work only when he takes back Manjhi into the JD(U) fold and gives him the post of deputy chief minister. There is no point in going ahead with the merger plan when the important leaders get outside our socialist camp,” RJD vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, who is considered very close to Lalu, said. He added the unification of the splinter groups of the old Janata family would not be complete without Manjhi. “Manjhi has been our old associate. His exclusion from our camp will only weaken the grand alliance or eventual merger. We can’t ignore this fact,” Singh said.

cold feet from the RJD? Lalu has been quiet.... is this a tactic to get more seats from the Jd(u)?
RJD saying through close associates of Lalu that the alliance with Jd(u) is off unless Nitish gets Manjhi on board.... Not sure what the end game is. On their own the RJD will be trashed. Their only chance is an alliance with Nitish. Is this a bluff and double bluff game between Nitish and Lalu a means for grab for power?

Just yesterday I read that Manjhi was going to go into polls solo though he was open to a poll poll alliance with BJP. RJD/JDU will definitely be crushed if either of them go alone. As for a power grab - the reality is that Nitish can contest elections while Lalu can't and RJD doesn't have any other leader of Lalu's stature so if the alliance has to stay, Nitish is the only choice as leader.
