how about (A) we keep the government hell away from sports (B) we make investment in sports tax free. A while back star did claim to invest a lot in Indian olympic sports. So why not give incentives and make it tax free endavour? (assuming its not)

nice. I can see a good future for sport person in India, IPL ISL, kabaddi and many more. At least , there are some sports so people can chose. People will improve in sports sooner or later once they got the opportunities.

Put an online system in place and all this will go away. There are some sections of govt tax/revenue collection which have gone online in the last few years. Tax/Revenues have jumped by 300% in some cases just because of the online system.

Depends - Our nation is still from sports point of view way way way underdeveloped as compared to other nations. With us already having the biggest youth population, we really need to improve on this front. For that this would be a fillip, just like how IT companies got decades of IT holidays in the 90s which really set them up. Per capita, facilities and infrastructure availability is a joke. I was reading about Alice Springs in Australia. The whole place is native to just about 28000 people, but is home to a first class quality cricket ground and football ground. We desperately lack such penetration in terms of infrastructure in our country.

But its still unclear we have the "critical mass" of following for other sports, which is preventing serious investors from entering the fray. A part of this has been addressed by the likes of ISL and Kabbadi League. But these also need to be considered as of reasonable standards when compared to easily accessible western counterparts. Which kicks of a process to attract better players than old/retired guys, which needs money, which needs investment, for which tax breaks can be only a good thing.
