He's been telling me about the internal culture, which i find to be fascinating and sad: - There is massive discrimination against women internally, especially at the higher management positions. - There is rampant discrimination regionally (North vs. South) - Groups within the organization hate each other, to the point of competing for the same clients, even having to get legal teams involved - There is Elitism based on educational background that has little to do with actual performance and capability

Also for the newer generation, having female boss is not an issue. I dont have any friends who would prefer to or not to report to a woman but I have seen colleagues who are 10-15 older who openly said that they prefer a male boss.

My friend is a partner at the said firm, and I am talking about at the highest levels of management. The new CEO is trying to change some of the culture, but the tone at the top is very problematic at best. As for women, it is where women, other folks based on regional basis are not promoted and looked down upon.

For equal professional contribution, woman should be given more credit as they have more things to manage... Just think yourself what you ( as males ) expect your spouse to do as 'household' contribution...In most cases, it will be way more than you do yourself...
