When Prudent is here , we know its good times for Indian cricket. He is like the victory siren they blow everytime a war is won. Makes fleeting appearances but you know the team is doing well when you see him around ! Good to have ya around bro ! :yay:

Not entirely surprising to see a single thread about Kumble lying amidsty the usual cr@p about other "superstars". Very well played Anil Kumble. Full marks for excellent skippership as also bowling(as always). I specially liked the way he used Saurav Ganguly as 3rd seamer(for all practical purpose Ganguly was our second best seamer after Zaheer in the game). Yes it was a stop-gap arrangement and Kumble himself conceded that. But ultimately Ganguly bowled 23 overs in the game and that is the 2nd highest in his entire career so obviously more than a little thought went into it. I would like Ganguly to bowl more. His pace is not very different to say a Sohail Tanveer and he can bring in an extra dimension to our bowling which is becoming too one-sided(or left armish if you will). Not to mention that the more Ganguly is bowled the fitter he shall get, no exercise for this chap otherwise. Ganguly's 2nd inning knock must also have been influenced by his 2 wickets to put the breaks on Pakistan. All in all a good solid first test for Kumble, lets hope he carries the good work.

He is a creditable player amongst the players out there... he looked like a big daddy in this test match... I am pretty sure of his good captaincy in the next match as well... Kolkata is generally a good venue for both teams...
