Rajiv Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Understandable, but he can continue this in normal innings too. He hooked and slashed wonderfully, I hope he can feel the same confidence for the rest of his career
Akshat Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 And that fierce cut was very pleasing too along with those hooks and pulls!! Congrats everyone on the victory!
Predator_05 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I hope he carries on where he left off at Kolkata. When he plays like this, he is simply unstoppable. The Pakistanis didn't have a clue where to bowl to him.
Ram Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Honestly , why cant he just play like this all the time ?
Anakin Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 He was just sublime this morning. Probably just to show that he's still a great batsman even if some "think" otherwise. Hooking, pulling, cutting 140K deliveries with ultimate ease, the footwork, the timing everything was top notch today.
Rajiv Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 ..eggactly, when he plays like this - the bowler starts thinking the. He is best when he is dominatimg, a meek sachin is just a regular batsman
Anakin Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Honestly ' date=' why cant he just play like this all the time ?[/quote'] Dude it all depends on the situation, he was correct in his reserved batting yesterday. Now as it often happens in cricket, he might've just got out yesterday even when playing conservatively, and then of course we'd have the pleasure of "expert" opinions :haha::haha:

Shoaib has to be smacked on that ground, for indian supporters to gain edge when it comes to the discussion of personal fight between Shoaib and Sachin :pray:
fineleg Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Honestly ' date=' why cant he just play like this all the time ?[/quote'] It will be great if he does. Its a mental thing that he closes down many times in Test matches. If he plays with freedom, he becomes a very dangerous batsman. When he plays defensively, he prods and pokes and nudges. Becomes tense, and goes into a shell. Then gets out to some ridiculous shot or ordinary bowler etc.

Ram Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 The last boundary hit to win the match , it almost seemed like he had decided to defend the ball and at the very last moment thought " Chal , lets finish it off this ball itself" and just slapped it past point for a rasping boundary ! I am happy today , like almost a long lost wont was satisfied. Thank you Sachin , thank you very very much !

Had it not been for youtube, an entire generation of p akis wouldn't even know about that incident.

The Outsider Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 He could not have played like this earlier. The game plan was clear, Tendulkar would guard one end, take on as much of Shoaib as he can while Ganguly would take some risks to get some runs going. That's Test cricket.

Guest Hiten. Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 That is ancient history. Had it not been for youtube' date=' an entire generation of p akis wouldn't even know about that incident.[/quote'] Not really. Shoaib was considered FASTEST bowler in the world during those days. His FIRST ball to SRT was more enthusiastically waited than a woman looking for moon during karva chauth. Time came when 100,000 people fulfilled this wish, when Dravid fell to Shoaib and then SRT walked in. Shoaib to Sachin, KABOOM!!!.... middle stump out of the ground... thats insulting
Rajiv Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Sachin was late and the chuck was perfect
