Guest Hiten.
The Indian team was hit by bad news on Sunday with pacer Sree Santh being ruled out for the third and final Test against Pakistan in Bangalore. The Kochi-based pacer “has not recovered enough’’ from his right shoulder injury thereby putting him out of action for the entire series. RP Singh, who has also been ruled out of the second Test owing to a side strain, could still make it to the third Test, but is still not in the clear. The Kerala paceman has however been asked to report in Bangalore on December 5, the day when the Indian team to tour Australia will be selected. Team physio John Gloster will examine Sree’s shoulder one last time before the selectors choose the team. There is a growing fear that Sree may require surgery. If that is the case, he may be a doubtful starter for the Australia tour. But Sree’s brother Dipu Shanthan claimed that the paceman was recovering fast and has even started bowling again at a local club in Kochi. ‘‘It is a matter of strengthening his shoulder. He is bowling an over every day. He will recover in time for the Australia series,’’ Dipu Shanthan said. http://cricket.indiatimes.com/Sree_ruled_out_of_3rd_Test_also_doubtful_for_Oz_tour/articleshow/2570387.cms ---- Something is very very fishy about this. I really don't think Sree has been injured this badly for miss 2 back to back test series. Link to comment

beetle
I would not put too much trust in the words of a brother...who probably means well but doesn't know enough.I see no reason for the team management faking his injury.... Link to comment
living
If this is true, I hope they pick Pathan as the 4th pacer in the squad after Zak, RPS and Munaf. Link to comment
Chandan
Ok. So now we have this news on Hindu too. Sreesanth may undergo surgery Mumbai: Seamer S. Sreesanth’s shoulder injury is almost certain to rule him out of the third Test against Pakistan (to be played at Bangalore) and even the tour of Australia. He is likely to be advised to undergo corrective surgery. Sreesanth damaged his shoulder during the fifth one-day international against Pakistan at Jaipur and has not shown encouraging progress after he was left out of the team for the first Test. The BCCI had earlier announced that he and R. P. Singh will not be fit for the second Test to be played at Kolkata. BCCI sources said on Sunday that the Indian team’s physiotherapist John Gloster informed them in the course of the Test match at New Delhi that in the event of Sreesanth not making sufficient progress in the coming week, he will be advised to undergo surgery. In his report to the BCCI before the first Test Gloster had said: “Sreesanth has sustained a right shoulder injury (bowling hand) whilst diving during the match against Pakistan in Jaipur. Investigations were undertaken on arrival in New Delhi and he was administered injection under the advice of a specialist. Sreesanth has not recovered as quickly or effectively as required and therefore cannot be considered for selection for the first Test. Further investigations will be undertaken and an updated review of his progress will be forthcoming.†------------------------------------------------------ This is a terrible blow thinking that we're touring Australia in less than a month's time. If Sree is not available for that series.......it'll hurt our chances badly! Link to comment

If Sree is not available for that series.......it'll hurt our chances badly! I've been saying this for 2 months non-stop, and I think you've been saying this too Chandan. We knew this kind of problem was coming given the way there was no proper rotation of fast bowlers in India. Link to comment
gs
Fack!! The mindless ODIs have taken its toll. If only he hadnt played that last ODI we would have had him for the Aus tour. Link to comment
kabira
big big loss for India..He had something in him to rattle this aussies... Link to comment
kabira
Blessing in disguise for Munaf and probably Agarkar who will make another comeback. Link to comment
Dravid
if ppl can say sehwag for aus is a must i will say aggy for aus is a must Link to comment
ludhianvi
how did these two bowlers get injured at the same time and that too so fast? Link to comment
The Outsider
if ppl can say sehwag for aus is a must i will say aggy for aus is a must Only problem with that logic is that Agarkar's bowling average is the same as Sehwag's batting average.:D Link to comment
praveenj
Well, Sreesanth might not prove to be a big threat to Pakistan on sub-continental soil, but he cetainly can do well on the Oz pitches [first test happens to be on Gabba]. He is one bowler who can generate pace and bounce, also can swing and seam both ways. We saw how Oz struggled to play him in the T20I WC. Hayden was letting the deliveries go by in such a dynamic match. Link to comment
Dravid
Only problem with that logic is that Agarkar's bowling average is the same as Sehwag's batting average.:D lol... BUT aggy does good against aus in aus... avg. of 35 :D Link to comment
praveenj
Well, on high scoring pitches, an average of 35 is good enough... isn't it? Link to comment
