Two of the Big 8 countries are guaranteed exit form the first round and the points are carried forward to the next round, which makes all the group matches relevant and exciting. Now its just to decide which team to face in the Quarter Final.

After what happened in 2007 WC, ICC will never going to take any risks. 2007 format was great on paper,possibility of top eight teams playing in Super 8. Unfortunately India & pak went out and WI was in decline. End of day TV revenue matters.
