Austin 3:!6 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Ranji trophy is the India's premier domestic competition going on for many decades but unlike County cricket or Sheffield Shield, it does not allow foreign players to play. I think it will be a good move to induce some international players in the league. It will help young domestic Indian players to play with their overseas counterparts from a very early stage and gain experience. I know IPL is there but its not an Indian domestic cricket ideally. There is a huge difference playing a 20 over games against a first class match. Now with BCCI being the richest board its time to expand the Ranji as one of the premier domestic leagues in the world like County cricket and bring in some foreign blood. What say?

It will no where close to be as lucrative as IPL. If any international player wants to play 1 season of Ranji to gain experience in playing sub continent they are welcome. We all say a batsman is not mature enough let him play couple of county season to gain experience. A fast bowler must play few county matches to be a better bowler. Ranji should go in that direction as well. We all know Eng and Aust struggle against spin in these conditions. They would love their players to play few Ranji season even for peanuts.

BeautifulGame Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Only their international players if at all.Maybe have a criteria of 25 caps at least Our players won't gain any experience their novice cricketers . Better solution would be allow their A team to participate in Duleep trophy (which should be round robin) making it 6 team format and in return send our A team play for a season in Australia or England alternate seasons Will be much more rewarding for our youngsters
