3 overs ? Some times but u also have longer spell and some tikes yo get bowler in rhythm u just have to let him bowl

Yes sometimes u also bowl long spells when the bowler is in the zone or working over a batsmen.Steyn often does this.But all other times bowling 4-5 (atmost) over short spells is the best for fast bowlers.Thus u can maintain intensity like Johnson or Harris does

3 is always considered a short spell and 2 overs regularly is considered disruptive steyn often also bowls 7-9 overs and much more common for bowlers to bowl atleas 4-5 overs specially with new ball

I think what people mentioned are 1 over spells in odis which is asking a bowler to get injured.

Asterix was about tests so was I . If ODIs we can pick almost every captain of making peculiar decisions .And with Dhoni's record in ODIs it doesnt even matter what his thingking process is. He also used Umesh excellently in the CT . As for SA odis almost everything we we did was horrible.We went from jet lag to play odis straightaway without any rest let alone practice games

i will be honest and say he handled him pretty well in tests until injury where he neeed to back him again after he got fit but that never happened but 1-2 over spells did destroy his confidence in south africa there is no getting around it or jet lag excuse it was jsut poor management and his record in these particular countries is not that great

Only places where Dhoni record in ODIs is poor is when we went in with proper practice games. Almost every overseas ODI series we played after test series in overseas conditions we have won (or close to winning)under Dhoni.Clearly shows what the issue is

Apart from SA Dhoni has won ODI series in every other country atleast once.Won both ICC trophies he captained Which Indian captain has that record? Fact is when we play odis before tests our batsmen(and bowlers) go into them without any practice games and struggle to adjust.How many practice games we did play in SA or NZL before the odis? Is that enough for them adjust to the bounce and conditions? U cant blame players or Dhoni for that. When we had played ODIs after test in a tour we have won most of the time under Dhoni.Only time we fared poorly was during the 2011 CB series vs Australia

In ODIs,if you get smashed in your first over,its obvious you won't get another.They are not bowler development exercises. Most quicks are spot on in their first over hence they get 2nd and so on.Plus they bowl 1 over spells in T20s and have no problem adjusting.
