Dhoni did not try to take an easy edge by Starc. I feel that a slight change in his approach, with more length deliveries whenhe is getting hit, could make him way better. Needs mentoring. We need to show a little patience as he can be a big time wicket taker.

He is not able to f ind that in between length consistently, neither is Umesh, but Umesh got wickets to show.

But I wonder whether that is as a result of the team management's instruction to him to bowl a lot of bouncers, maybe 3 or more per over. When predominant length bowling is required , he is unable to make the change as he is inexperienced. In case of Umesh ...he was hitting good lengths against SL. Maybe, he was a bit nervous as this is his first test in 2 years.

Why play trundlers cause they can be economical, just bring in Shami instead. One of these quicks may suddenly develop into a world beater like Zakk did. As for Aaron he has potential and almost got Smith, he should not go completly off radar and should remain around the squad.

Some people are being way too critical. They said the same chit about Yadav, drop him and bring in a trundler. Now look at Yadav. Wickets in both innings, far more potent than any trundler India has ever played in Australia. He got a wicket every 7-8 overs this match, any trundlers with his strike rate in tests? Where are those so critical of pace now? U think trundlers can have Strike rate below 50? It's same with Aaron. He has the ability to do what trundlers cannot. He has pace and hence penetration. He has potential, trundlers do not. Don't write him off. He needs time. Improvements sometimes don't happen so quick in 1 or 2 matches or even first tour of country. He can be dropped for match but not dropped completly.

Yadav always swung he ball more than Aaron. He was decent last time in Aus too. He was erratic too, but had wickets at MCG and WACA. Aaron should have had 5-6 wickets in this match too if chances were taken, but that is how cricket goes. You make you own luck. He didnt because he was not consistent enough. If you are not getting wicket, luck is not your side, at least try to bowl tightly. He goes all out every time he has ball in his hand.

But not every one is skilled enough to do so I agree. That doesn't mean he can't improve enough to be decent enough accuracy wise. How much has Aaron even played? Needs more game time but he should be told he is not finished with Indian team. All Im saying is Aaron has the potential to be what trundlers can never be especially in Aus pitches, no matter how much hard work they put in. That's all Im saying. He can be dropped for the test but not taken off the radar completly. Unless India had many other quicks to work with which is not the case :cantstop:

Batting cannot lose more strength. Raina in for Rohit. He is the only reserve middle order bat.

Now he is trying too hard ...trying to take a wicket every ball.... in an attempt to cement his place in the side. People are asking for Shami today.
