England and Aus bowling coaches David Sekar and Troy Cooley are no big names. It is all about understanding the trade and making sure that basics are strong. That's the problem - modern coaches who were past players understand the trade better than the latter ones. You will soon notice a trend and it has already started where past players as bowling coaches are being quite effective more so in ODIs, T20s. My personal choice would be Jason Gillespie for India's bowling coach.

So it doesn't matter if he doesn't listen to Warne. In terms of tactical acumen, Warne's got a wealth of experience and insights that I think Virat will be thankful to have around. Warne will be there basically for bowlers. Our bowlers seem humble and willing to listen- even if they're poor bowlers. Kind of the ideal situation, really. That said there's no way Warne would take the position. He's bit enough money, always has all sorts of gigs going on around the world (poker, romps with supermodels, commentary gigs, time with his kids, etc). No way he's committing to a long term and full time job.

Seems to be a sharp cricket mind, and one who has worked with a lot of young cricketers. Our bowling unit -- the worst bowling unit in the world -- could benefit from a guy like Akram. But it's not happening. I don't understand this and sevevral other posters Wasim has been coaching kkr bowlers for donkey number of years. what has he achieved there?

GolGappe Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I wouldn't mind seeing Brett Lee as India's bowling coach. He was super fit with a great attitude and got on really well with Indians in general. Warne will be another Greg Chappell. His personality is super-repulsive.
