Guest Hiten. Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Will finey stop here or are we gonna see more of these kinda threads ?
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Well, let the match get over and then I'll see how it all turns out for Bhajji and Calcutta.
Sachinism Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 saw what he did to yousuf thats why he was selected
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 As I said there are more than enough folks (incl. at ICF) who have felt that Bhajji has shifted to "containing bowler". So, I am not the only one with that opinion. If he has changed, I would have to wait and see over 1 or 2 series to confirm and believe it. The AUS tour will reveal whether Bhajji has changed to his old self or not.
Guest HariSampath Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 finey...give it a rest... Harbhajan Singh has been one of the finest spinners and matchwinners for India, and you just can't nitpick like ( last 2 performances against Pakistan on those tests etc)...Overall he has done brilliantly for India, won so many games
fineleg Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Hari Sampath, Can you please tell me why HS was dropped and only now after he has picked up his perf in ODIs - he has made his comeback? Why was he dropped? Look, I am ok if HS is back to his old wicket taking self, I just want to wait until Aus tour concludes to see one way or the other.
Shehezaada Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 it's ok guys, i'll pick up finey some tylenol on my way home from work. Sit tight and avoid watching cricket cuz i hope your not getting too uptight about Bhajji
THX_1138 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 curious... is there a rule that states that one might not have more than 2 close in fielders on the leg side? and if this is so, was this rule generated in part due to the controversy generated by the notorious bodyline episode?
vroomfondel Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 you can have only 2 behind the square on the leg side. and yes, that is as far as I know a direct result of bodyline bowling with a packed leg-slip/leg-gully region.
The Outsider Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Actually, this law was introduced much after the Bodyline series, maybe 25-30 years later. One of the reasons was the "leg trap" spinners would form.
vroomfondel Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Actually' date=' this law was introduced much after the Bodyline series, maybe 25-30 years later. One of the reasons was the "leg trap" spinners would form.[/quote'] ah, ok. ignorance exposed.
fineleg Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 DAY 5 pitch at "Calcutta" ICF-ers said this is why Bhajji is selected - he is supposed to be a "destroyer" on day 5 at calcutta, I am told by ICF. HS, Day 5, Calcutta, others have removed top order 4 wickets for him. PERFECT! Now...only 6 remaining Ok, here he has his chance. Lets see if he does it.
fineleg Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Hello Bhajji...hello? Its TEA now. Apparently Bhajji the destroyer destroyed Aus after Tea. So, there is still hope :D I will wait patiently for the brilliant bhajji magic.
fineleg Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Bhajji has been USELESS - as USELESS as he can be before TEA. It will be a miracle if he does something after tea, but yep I'll still wait for that patiently. Frankly, even Bhajji will be surprised if he bowls well. VERY DISAPPOINTING from Bhajji - and he seems so lacklustre and uninterested.
Chaos Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 we need a leg spinner, who can actually spin the damn ball....
