The above mentioned posts that you've written have no mentions of reservations for Muslims (unless they are from an already existing backward community) separately. Neither is it clear where the passing criteria has been lowered once a student has gotten into a college. But I think I understand. You harbour your general disdain of Muslims professional, be them doctors or engineers on account of your cousin losing his seat to a Muslim person who was less deserving on account of a Muslim reservation, which apparently doesn't even exist. I am not sure what is being implied here. I had made it clear above in response to DC's question that it is reservation in professional services that I have an issue and that is not necessarily only muslims ( there are more reservations for SC/ST/OBCs and I think in some states, muslims are not specified separately but come under OBCs). On passing criteria, I have clearly mentioned multiple times what I meant and have nothing more to add if people choose to ignore it deliberately. I do not get any happiness creating things from thin air and posting in a random forum. It is a fact that my cousin could not get a seat inspite of a better rank and a muslim student got admission inspite of a much poor rank ( due to muslim quota or OBC or whatever ). If you think this is not a normal scenario in India and I am posting lies, then it is upto you.

I never ever go for treatment from a muslim doctor nor will go for a muslim Civil Engineer knowing that >90% of them got their degrees due to appeasment of Indian Govt.... Can you substantiate the more than 90% of Muslim doctors have gotten their degrees due to reservation claim? Most of the states have no reservation for Muslims (non backward class). And even in Andhra, with the 4% reservation that diga shared, it is very unlikely that more than 90% of the doctors got their degrees due to appeasement? I apologize, if my previous post was harsh/rude. That wasn't the intention at all. :icflove:

The first was going around in HC and SC when I last tracked it. That wasn't the intention at all. :icflove: Maybe I over-reacted assuming something so apologies to you if I was rude ( it helps that I just saw that you are a mod here - I was not aware of it earlier :nervous: ). I have no basis of the 90%. It is just gut feel. Obviously there will be muslim students who would have got in on merit even if there was no reservation but from what I remember reading, sometimes the reserved quota even goes unutilized as there are not enough candidates applying so chances are that the majority of the ones who do get in are through the quota. Also, this is not about muslims exclusively. I have the exact issue with SC/STs,etc.

IMO, who under the aegis of the current set of reservation policies of successive GoI, should still be allowed to avail to the reservations as they still are 'backward'. There is theologically no caste system in Islam. But the reality is that Muslims are also divided on various socio economic and ethnic parameters. Caste/ sect/ affluence/ class, you take your lexical pick. Rohinton Nariman, used to be an occasional guest/celeb lecturer in my college.* He once had said during one his rather long lectures: "In Hinduism, man opresses man. In Islam, its just the opposite." (*)Yes, I used to be an extremely attentive student.
