MK55 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Umesh was impressive in the middle overs in the warm up match. Bowled with pace and dint slide down the leg side that frequently. But for some reason he was unwilling to bowl yorkers at the death. Perhaps not confident of executing those yorkers and doesn't want to concede runs in the process. May be he was too apprehensive of his place in the side. Shami was our go to man but strangely was not bowling the delivery that he knows best. Same with Mohit. IMO, BK is not good enough at the death and MS has got no confidence in his skills. Also, all teams have got explosive batsmen at the end. The new ball is going to be crucial. If a bowler who's primarily selected in the side as a new ball bowler is not going to contribute at the start, he is only going to help the opposition in setting up huge targets. Death bowling wont matter then.
bulbul Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 It's not possible to bowl well in death overs in every match. Few matches you will win most you lose. I don't think except Malinga there are any good death bowlers in World cricket now.
amiret Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Which death bowler has done well for India in the last 5 years ?
bulbul Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Which death bowler has done well for India in the last 5 years ? WC 2011 few matches bowlers bowled well. Even Champions trophy was won like that. But in majority of cases its not possible. This is the case with all other countries as well. Only option for better death bowling is get 7 wickets before 45th over.
Lord Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Akhtar saying they dont want to bend their backs and bowl will full effort required for yorkers
skindia Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Nehra balaji were best options, cant see any1 in squad
bulbul Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Akhtar saying they dont want to bend their backs and bowl will full effort required for yorkers You can always put effort for 1 ball. Warm-up games are best options to try Yorkers.
Lord Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 You can always put effort for 1 ball. Warm-up games are best options to try Yorkers. Maybe they dont wanna get injured
skindia Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Cricket is lazy ppls game,Batting is easy job,but bowling is the art
Cricketics Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Bhuvneshwar - Not used to his strength. Umesh - Good start with a wicket. I think he shold be our first change bowler as, as soon as ball loses a bit shine, he can use the ball to bowl fast and can control more. Mohit is one of those who can be tried any time. If openeing bowlers are giving runs at crazy pace, than he can be bough in to get get a wicket. We can use him anytime in the middle overs too. Shami - Should be opening the bowling with Bhuvneshwar. Binny - Middle overs only and like Mohit, can be used to to replace someone early just for a wicket but than should be removed right away. So here is my bowling order for the Pak game or the next game Bhuvneshwar/Shami - Open the bowling Umesh - First change. Binny and spinners.
