You could pick the great Viv, but is he really that much better than the next best? You could pick the best bowler, but again, is he going to give you the edge over the next best? You could pick the best allrounder, you know the drill. You could pick the best wkt keeper batsman. Who's your man?

Akram knew every trade in the bowling book - he was the ultimate magician. In sheer artistry or craftiness, Akram had few equals.

McGrath has better stats, Akram wouldn't even be in my top 3-4 quicks.

brendan07 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Wasim is the undisputed No 1 bowler in ODIs. In terms of longevity sure, but there are others who were better or just as good over a shorter period. Getting 500 ODI wickets does not equal best ever necesarily.
