CoverDrive Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 well they left out Ryan McLaren who was doing ok and was the second highest wicket taker for them in 2014. he could still come in with Philander's injury. Batting has a great top order which gets thin soon (kind of similar to us). that is one area where Aussies are good though they need faulkner.

I mean, they've always been great in group stages and lost each n every knockout game, but this time around, they don't look convincing even in the group stage. Even against Zimbabwe they got to 83/4 when duminy and miller saves their a**. They can't do it every match. As for bowling, they gave 277 in 48 overs against Zimbabwe and 307/7 against India, not the signs of a World Cup favorite team eh? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

G_B_ Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 they need a solution at number 7. They have tried McLaren and Parnell and Berhadien. Looking at Australia they bat all the way down to 10. They are missing Kallis big time. I feel its time that SA trust JP with the ball and bring in a proper batsman at 7 who is Rilee Roussow. South africa and India are similar in the way they operate. India batting hinges on 4-5 players with a long tail. Bowling has variety with 5 frontline bowlers. The difference is India's big guns and key batsman fired and South Africa's did not.
brendan07 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I said before the tournament that their batting was weak if you can get 2-3 early wickets. Duminy at 6 and whichever rubbish number 7 they pick is exactly my point.
