G_B_ Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Have you ever been or lived in a region/area where there are lot of elephants ? Forget zim ' date=' just in India . Ask people from those region , you will know what destruction these animals can cause .[/quote'] maybe cause the humans keep multiplying at an unsustainable rate and encroach on their lands? @desicartman Its not just about the size of the animals. Its also the way you kill them. There are humane ways to kill an animal than a safari hunt whereby a missed shot can cause a lot of pain to the animals. People are also pissed about the way they are laughing in the pic. Fine potentially there is an argument that there are too many elephants. Do you need to grin like a **** while you carry out the deed? Do you need to pose with them? If i am hungry and if i kill an animal to sustain myself thats not something i will be proud or brag about. Its this smug attitude which pisses me off the most. This is not just about veg and non veg. Its just one dimension in the argument.

They provide huge vehicles for seed dispersal. They are intelligent and other mega fauna like hippos, rhinos, buffalo, etc relies ok n them to keep important Tracks to watering holes and salt licks open. If Zimbabwe has overpopulation issues with elephabts, they should export it to countries in Asia and Africa that have endangered population of elephants, not encourage hunting safaris.
Gollum Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 How do elephants have coitus and how does such a big baby elephant come from such a small hole?

I'm not the most informed about the non-vegetarian food industry, but I doubt every single one of them take careful measures to not cause harm to the animal. And anyway, I'm sure McGrath did not want to shoot one in the wrong area and make it live for enough time so that is actually feels much pain. If he did that, I'm sure McGrath would have had some close calls. As for the photograph, as much as I hate killing any animal, it is kind of cool to have a photograph with an elephant (although preferably it is alive). By the way I've seen a lot of photos of people hunting and taking a photograph with it. What's the big deal with McGrath doing it?

And I don't think there are many takers of elephants in Africa
