Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 In England where he picked 2-14?or vs WI?Hasnt dont great wickets wise I agree but still is more reliable with new ball 1 match where he picked 2 wickets in england which favors his type of bowling is reliable for new bowler ? so you wanna play mohit, bhuvi, jaddu, ashwin all 4 bowlers who cannot pick wickets and are defensive in same team ? buddy we are winning for 1 reason and its that we have perfect balance between wicket taking threat of yadav /shami (he does both ) and ability to restrict scoring of mohit. if you cannot see it then i do not see anypoint in arguing and we can agree to disagree but you are tlaking baout dropping bwoler who has not had 1 bad game since sri lanka series and was out best bowler even in phanties vs australia in warm ups for bowler whose best performance is picking 2 wickets in last 2 years and looked mediocre than binny in tri series :giggle: anyway i said what i wanted to say...you can disagree but guy averages 37 for reason and he has played in england ,south africa and new zealand and probably has worst average there .
Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Yadav is same average with higher ER. On current form there might not be much in it imo but still Bhuvi gives more confidence. Atleast Yadav should be kept away from new ball.Mohit can swing it more.Yadav was bowling cross seam  yeah and bhuvi was swinging them miles with his full pitched ball like southee na ? also here are stats for you 2013 average 34 2014 average 45 2015 average 60(low sample size ) for yadav 2014 average 22 2015 average 45(low sample size ) also mohit does not swing the ball he moves ball bit from pitch. anyway like i said i am done ...wont reply from here on. just wanted to break the myth people have about bhuvi because of champions trophy while he has been useless for some time now and looked at his absolute worst in tri series .

Mohit is picking up wickets.Even Ashwin :dontknow: What is Yadav's best performance except SL? 2-50? Bhuvi played 2 games in tri series.Bowled well in 1 and sucked in other where even Yadav was rubbish.Where the heck is difference?Binny did well in Perth game where neither played.

Warmup game?c'mon We did not win in NZ because you need mix.Obviously containment wont work if third pacer is rubbish and gives it all away along with spin.If that was the case Yadav would be great for wickets even with risk of runs, but here our other guys are doing well and we do not need to take that risk, specially in a knockout game.

Lord Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 i am not even sure if this is serious anymore.. so you wanna drop yadav who has done nothing wrong since sri lanka series because other guys are also bowling well and you wanna drop him for guy who has averaged over 40 over past 2 years ? i am getting this corrent na ? Yadav has been inconstent even here. Was avg in tri series at best(Avg 48.5 with ER over 6 if you wanna talk numbers).Dunno why you think hes doing great Bhuvi has been bad wickets wise too yes.In these games it doesnt make much difference but in knockouts I just want to go with more safer option.I know Bhuvi might not take wickets but atleast am fairly sure he wont lose it

Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 let me make it clear if your main opening bowler who is your strike bowler is going at 5 rpo without picking single wicket its not safe option that is match losing option because batsman will attack at end its common sense and exactly what happened in new zealand. also on current form freaking stuart binny bowled better than him and looked much much more threatening..
adi B Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 People need to understand that having an out and out fast bowler unsettles the batsmen a bit,if u have similar bowlers bowling from both the ends with the new ball ,it becomes too predictable and the batsmen can get settled bit quickly.Dropping umesh to get bhuvi in will make this attack too one dimensional.Dhoni knows this and bhuvi might replace the bowler who might get smashed around in one of the group matches
SELVAM Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 As per dhoni all 15 members in the squad is fit. So bhuvi will not get any game
Lord Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 bhuvi went for 60 average...there is no argument where bhuvi wins :giggle: in knockouts i want team combination which is winning games for change in these conditions . i dont know why people think going at 4.5 rpo in first 10 over without picking wickets is safer option ? itsn ot safe the team is jsut easily playing out new ball and saving wickets and we got paid for that against south africa ,new zealand and all matches in australia where bhuiv bowled with new ball and won 0 games. now you want to go back to 0 win formula after winning 2 huge games with more attacking option ?:hysterical: Yeah Bhuvi lost all those games n Yadav won these two lol When was the last time Bhuvi was defending 300+ total in NZ, England, SA like these two games.?Do equal comparison Lot of things have changed including 3rd pacer and spinner performance and now we can have Bhuvi as so called containment bowler. ER and control is important specially in knockouts
Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Yeah Bhuvi lost all those games n Yadav won these two lol When was the last time Bhuvi was defending 300+ total in NZ, England, SA like these two games.?Do equal comparison Lot of things have changed including 3rd pacer and spinner performance and now we can have Bhuvi as so called containment bowler. ER and control is important specially in knockouts our third pacer is containment bowler . every team has 2 strike bowlers who can pick wickets at anytime. also from memory they batted first 4 times and we batted first once and scored 270 odd pretty decent total bhuvi went 10 overs for 62 runs . rest of games were same with only shami picking wickets and all others containing:hysterical: yet after all containing bhuvi did they scored around 300 everytime
Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 i seriously do not get in what world averaging 40 is safe option...there is no argument here, you can keep replying and still you cannot give even single performance based on which he should be selected. you say he is safe option but safe option went over 6 rpo in new zealand in most of games.
CSK Fan Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 People are being too harsh on BK who was coming back from injury. Yadav was a 100 times worse when he just came back from his injury. However, having said that, I am extremely excited about Yadav. After a long time, he seems to be getting his line in ODIs. Fast bowlers don't grow on trees. And it is very good that our management is finally supporting him. BK is in contract A and will get his chances. Yadav needs all the encouragement he can get. Backing Yadav is going to pay much bigger dividends long term. One pacer bowling good will break the myth of only line length working for us.

BK should be part of set up and replace who so ever bowls badly but how in world can anyone make argument that on their respective forms both current and last 2 years bhuvi deserves chance right now in next game on any of three bowlers we are playing ? its just ridiculous that bhuvi gets away with averaging over 40 in last 2 years in odis and more ridiculous is people arguing he should replace yadav who has done nothing wrong ever since making comeback and looks to be more control with every passing game.

I m not saying everyone should contain.Mohit is picking wickets too .So that's two Mohit n Shami

I would say BK had to bowl on flatter pitches which Yadav was able to skip. Particularly Aus series. That is the only point I would bring up, otherwise I agree with you BTW, Mohit's career average is almost 37
Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Arrey I did reply why that didn't work in NZ and how's it's different now. I m not saying everyone should contain.Mohit is picking wickets too .So that's two Mohit n Shami mohit wont pick wickets if there are no attacking bowlers at other end his job is to just bowl dot ball and bowl to field while shami and umesh are there to attack its perfect balance...in no world mohit sharma is strike option he is tidy bowler who can pick wickets if people slog him .

That is the only point I would bring up, otherwise I agree with you BTW, Mohit's career average is almost 37 i agree but problem is performance in new zealand which lord was arguing about 5 matches 4 wickets. same in south africa and now same thing happened in australia . he does has place in squad but that would be in place of mohit and mohit is actually better bowler with older ball and ball does not really swings here so he is better option for now. now average part...it was lord who was comparing entire career of yadav who is only finding his feet in this format to bhuvi so to make my point i compared averages :)
