Old guy Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 anyway..people are going to take it wrongly but i honestly do think bhuvi has place in squad and i am 100 percent sure he will play part in this world cup because temperamentally he has shown he is big game player . but i do not agree with argument one bit which people are posting here ..bhuvi has done nothing to earn place over yadav or mohit and at same time yadav has done nothing wrong since sri lanka series to lose spot to anyone. if he bowls badly from here on replace him ..but do not at all agree that bhuvi from what he has shown in last 2 years is better option, specially if yadav keeps bowling like he has until now.

In NZ, conditions may favor swing, but most pitches in Australia won't be suitable for Bhuvster. It's simple really: If conditions favor swing, on current form Shami is good enough to exploit it. If there is any seam movement off the pitch, Mohit is likely to find it. Umesh with his pace is the X-factor, he will frustrate you with his lack of control, but you gotta take a chance with him. He is only one who bothered the Aussies in the warm up game. Bhuvster does not seem fully fit and is out of form. I'd leave him alone on the sidelines.

CG Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 our third pacer is containment bowler . every team has 2 strike bowlers who can pick wickets at anytime. also from memory they batted first 4 times and we batted first once and scored 270 odd pretty decent total bhuvi went 10 overs for 62 runs . rest of games were same with only shami picking wickets and all others containing:hysterical: yet after all containing bhuvi did they scored around 300 everytime Yadav has bowled well,He set up dekock and rattled him and shami got him.Bowling always is in patnerhship.Yadav shami up front look good combination and can take wickets which is important as saving runs do not matter as indian batting showed.Yadav role is diff to bhuvi . Its more mohit vs bhuvi and looking at mohit discipline and accuracy and bouncers i would play him curently over bhuvi as he looks like taking wickets.

Atleast Yadav should be kept away from new ball.Mohit can swing it more.Yadav was bowling cross seam :facepalm: BK averages 57 in last 15 months. Umesh about 30.
gakgupta Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 i agree but problem is performance in new zealand which lord was arguing about 5 matches 4 wickets. same in south africa and now same thing happened in australia . he does has place in squad but that would be in place of mohit and mohit is actually better bowler with older ball and ball does not really swings here so he is better option for now. now average part...it was lord who was comparing entire career of yadav who is only finding his feet in this format to bhuvi so to make my point i compared averages :) Why are we all talking about replacing a pacer with another one......cant we do that against Jadeja esp on pacer friendly pitces

Although in general a seam up position would benefit, the cross seam also presents some benefits.. It allow the bowler to get some uneven bounce from the surface. As some may land on the seam and take off while others may kiss the surface and remain a bit low. Also the control that it gives..
