Dhoni and Jadejas poor scores are going to cost big time in knockout. Comparing other teams Windies has Sammy, Russell, Aus-Maxwell,SL-Perera,NZ-Corey Anderson,England-Morgan,who can hit at will and acclerate in last 5 overs. Missing YUVRAJ BIG TIME.

Agreed but in last 2 matches just when he had hit some boundaries he got out so it wasn't really a case of not being able to hit.

He won't get out while trying to slog after getting his eye in. Dhoni needs some times to settle in, and this is also why he is not a great T20 player. Dhoni is at his best while playing for a knock which is over 30 runs. But his low scores aren't very impressive. Dhoni's S/R for sub 20 scores is just 61, but his S/R for >30 scores is 95!!

Against a generally crap bowler. Parnell was in poor form that day and was taken to cleaners by all batsmen.

Set batsmen should play out last 5 overs. Dhawan was set and had the mentality that he HAD to take a slog. He would never have done such a foolish shot in the 25th over. Id rather the 3/4 batsman play out the last 5 overs than have Ashwin and Jadeja come to the crease fresh with 2 overs left and having to slog from ball 1. We dont have players like Russell aside from Raina which can slog from ball 1. Yuvi is badly missed.

Even if Ashwin had played 30 overs he still won't be able to slog. He is not a slogger. Jaddu can slog only on pitches that has less bounce. In England bounce is less so he was able to swing through full deliveries. He is not good enough to slog good length balls which has more bounce. A perfect slogger hits length balls perfectly.
