G_B_
In ODI World Cups 14 matches Averages 30.60 with 91 not out in the finals of 2011 the only important contribution and a strike rate below 100. In Champions Trophy 11 matches Averages 19.33 highest score 51 v West Indies in 2006 in a game India lost. Poor with the bat in India's winning 2013 Champions Trophy He does have a decent average in the T20 World cups but the strike rate is poor. No 50. So the big question is, while Dhoni IMO should not be dropped. Keeping his track record in major events in mind, IMO India need to boost the batting at positions 7-8. Having Jadeja and Ashwin at 7-8 is not going to work given the form (jadeja) and strike rate (Ashwin) Link to comment
profster
Binny for Mohit in the two games at Perth should be considered to cover the bases. Link to comment
G_B_
I will replace Mohit with Bhuvi and replace Ashwin with Binny. Lets Binny and Sir fight it out. Link to comment

NareshK
Dont give too much importance to averages. Dhoni bats at 6 and usually top 5 batsmen did well for us in 2011 and this World Cup as well. He generally comes and has to slog and may get out cheaply. On the rare occasion where he batted up the order in 2011 final, he scored 91. But he should look to bat up the order against UAE or Zim and try to spend more time in the middle. Link to comment
cricketpitch
Binny for Mohit in the two games at Perth should be considered to cover the bases. LOL for this suggestion. Mohit has been the reason for India to keep control of the scoring. Ashwin will be dropped for Binny in Perth for sure. Dhoni might not have great record in ICC tournaments but it will be foolish to write him off. He has just come in to bat in the final 5 overs in both the games. We underestimated Dhawan and wanted him dropped before the world cup and look what he has done. The team we are having is good, no need to tinker with it. Mohit has been brilliant and it will be stupid to drop him to add another all rounder. We can replace Ash with Binny in Perth. Dhoni will come good when it is required and there is no need for some drastic actions when he is one of the best ODI players in the world. Link to comment
Crookbond
Why on earth will you do Mohit?! Link to comment
jalebi_bhai
He has rediscovered his bearings as ODI captain so that's a big positive. If he clicks with the bat, this tournament will quickly become even more enjoyable for Indian fans. Link to comment
flamy
Binny for Mohit in the two games at Perth should be considered to cover the bases. I was thinking similar, but with one game drop Ashwin and go 4 pacers. I want Ashwin to play one of the games at Perth, just for practice on unhelpful pitches in preparation for KOs. Link to comment
